Did/do the rail problems not also effect the North East? (And were/are they relevant to Border Scotland or not?)

If Tyne Tees is not joining in, then they'll presumably have to be the pre-recorded programme tonight.

Will any Lookaround presenters/reporters appear? It'll be a bit weird for Border viewers to get literally nothing but unknown names & faces.

The Tyne Tees area hasn't been anywhere nearly badly affected by the Northern problems. I imagine Tim Backshall will pop up with a report or an OB for the Lakes line.

And to be fair the Calendar region hasn't been effected as much as the North West, only services that involve crossing the pennines have been desrupted any more than normal.

The guy who did the OB from the Border region was a Granada reporter not a Border one - from the little involvement I had setting up one of the interviewees the whole thing was organised and run by Granada - and Border Tyne Tees had nothing to do with it, they just took it for the Border bit of the region and inserted their local news - which was very Scottish focussed - in the middle.

Don't know whether ITV picked up on this, but the Northern Barton to Cleethorpes service had a bad couple of weeks. To make the timetable work a TransPennine Express train needed to be used for a couple of services, something that had happened until 2013 anyway. But due to delays in re-clearing the 'method of work' for using the trains on the line, blamed on the problems more generally across the North of England, it was two weeks until this happened, with bus replacement of affected journeys in the meantime. Then on top of that there was disruption due to vandalism (not the train operators fault) and crewing problems

Well the Wharfedale Line into Leeds was affected by the changes - not just your Pennine route - into Leeds and Bradford have been shocking.

For such a short main bulletin this evening, was it worth having two presenters on Look North Leeds? They sensibly had a solo presenter on Monday.

Do you know that Christine and Duncan haven’t presented Calendar together a single time during the entire month of June.

If they were on National TV, national newspapers would be making up stories that they’ve fallen out! Very Happy

I noticed on Twitter Christine Talbot has been on assignment for the YTV at 50 next month.
