Harry and Luxmi still in the temporary studio this evening.

Are we watching the same programme (Look North - Yorks/Lincs)? This doesn't look very temporary to me . . .

No, that's Yorks/Links based in Hull. The temporary one is Yorkshire, based in Leeds.

For historical reasons and the shared programming like the Sunday Politics, and because Calendar covers both areas together, this thread covers both.

Well, someone could have explained beforehand . . . Laughing This is the York/Linc thread, after all.

Considering Luxmy was with Harry, I wonder if they're piloting in the main studio with Keeley and A N Other?

I don't think they have the resources to do that. Even if they used their (single operator) pres gallery to run one of the shows, that gallery shares all it's resources with the main gallery. There isn't really any space in the rest of the building to build a temporary gallery with a duplicate set of kit.

I can't see any reason for piloting to take place while the main programme is on.

It isn't that unusual for Luxmy to present the main programme if Keeley is off

Perhaps they are waiting until Amy Garcia is back later in the week, or there is still some fine tuning to be done.

We could rename it the Yorkshire & Yorkshire & Lincolnshire Thread. Wink

When this thread started Christa Ackroyd was still presenting Calendar. I think people know what to expect in here by now.

Is that really the best they can do? How bland and uninspired. No doubt Look North will have introduce the usual virtual newsroom background, and it will be business as usual. Another rehash of the same design.

What were you expecting? Mahogany panelling & lime green Paisley-pattern wallpaper, Barbie pink beanbags, and a chandelier?!

It's imitative of the current NBH national news set's curved/circular look, and makes the best of the modestly sized Leeds studio. It's along similar lines to what Midlands Today currently has, which is surely the only thing we could have expected?

Exactly. And doing it with screens means that Look North becomes the Super League Show very quickly, and then the Politics Show. Flexibility and being able to disguise that it's primarily a BBC News set is the key, and this should do that well.
