A very nice upbeat special titles mix tonight - can't think of any BBC News theme which has sounded so upbeat and positive since the 2012 Olympics montage!

Didn't Harry come back via BBC South rather than directly after his stint with the Rugby Football League? (Ironically a similar role with the RFL to that once held by Harry's friend Dave Callaghan of Radio Leeds and Look North whose funeral was held today)
That Mike McCarthy era of Look North must have been odd towards the end. Once Harry was back at the BBC, they must have been eager for Mike to move on, gently trying to push him along, so Harry could get his old job back.

Didn't Mike become editor of Millennium for Look North until he finally left?

Yes he did, I know that, but I assume he only took that job as there was no vacancy back at Look North and he wasn’t really in it for the long haul at South Today

You couldn’t be further from the truth. In a recent interview, Harry Gration revealed that he was settled in the south and content to stay. By all accounts some pressure was brought to bear on management at BBC South to let him go.

Just managed to watch 50 years of Look Nurth (if you are from Ull
)
Christa got a brief mention & appearance. I would love to have been a fly on the wall in that production meeting. Khalid Aziz was my biggest memory of the older Look North, it was nice to see him mentioned.
All the big stories were supposedly there (including Berriff's Flixborough stuff) but where was the miner's strike? Did I miss that? It has to have been one of the biggest stories in Yorkshire given King Arthur was based there.
They mentioned the split of Look Levy very cautiously, I wonder if Leeds viewers knew anything about the Seimens story and if Hull viewers knew who Ben Parkinson is - probably not.
The programme was a jarring reminder that the BBC has cut East Yorkshire's people off from Yorkshire news and foist upon them non local Lincolnshire news

Lincolnshire should have gone to the East Midlands and Hull remain in a totally Yorkshire region. If only for Belmont.

Most people who live in mid, west, or south Lincs, can, if they vote with their aerials receive East Mids telly from Waltham.
However Humber estuary folk are stuck with Belmont. Emley reception isn't really possible.

I assume they did the obligatory "When does Harry Gration have his tea? When Khalid Aziz" gag?
