Believe Harry was on last night.

He was indeed, at Thornton-le-Dale. He was billed as the "the legendary Harry Gration" by Alex and Matt..

Lots of good resourcefulness on Calendar tonight

Duncan Wood reporting on the snow and filming his own report from what was presumably outside his own house

Then Jon Mitchell came into the studio on his day off, rather than just leaving us with an Amanda Houston forecast.

Meanwhile on Look North, Paul Hudson almost had a bit of a Michael Fish moment with Amy having a go at him for getting the forecast wrong!

I noticed that the pre-rec'd weather forecasts on the Calendar GMB bulletins were dropped yesterday and replaced by the presenter reading a summary with no map. Presumably having been recorded the evening before, there was little mention of the snow, and so they had to ditch it.

Yeah, a couple of days ago they were saying the snow would come back at the weekend. Instead that cold front has been and gone!

I give Levy Live a bit of a dissing from time to time, but they are really keeping Hull Trains and their diabolical service on their toes at the moment.

To be fair to Paul, he did say it would snow, but the amount at lower levels took them by surprise. I was catching a train to London and had seen on the forecast on Wednesday night that it could snow so I got up earlier. Made the train no problem, but wouldn't have if had left at the planned time.

Hopefully in a better aspect ratio then the cropped stuff Ian White has been posting on Twitter.

For those who live in the BBC EGO region (East of Goole Only) it's a bit of a slap in the face as they don't get to see the celebrations even though they were part of the region.

It was the 70s tonight, focussing on when Look North was part of Nationwide, with an interview with Phillip Hayton.

Ian White has also tweeted some photos of when he used to do the 9:28 bulletin showing the self opt desk that he apparently was taught how to use by Peter Levy

There is an opt out 50 years of Look North, Sunday at 4pm.

The great sax music titles from the 90s tonight, with the report introduced with the 1991 globe ident in the background - nice touch. (They did a similar thing with the 80s last night)

It’s quite good how the distinctive looks and BBC globes seem to match up quite well with the decades although of course they don’t in reality.

When mentioning the sofa tour on BBC Look North Breakfast this morning, Gemma Dawson also mentioned that Peter Levy is apparently kayaking across the Humber for sport relief

I wonder what former presenters will turn up on Friday for the 50th special. Sophie Raworth is a given, albeit probably down the line.
