Last year they joined the East Midlands stations for the afternoon. I daresay that they will find a filler for an hour until 3PM then join either the East Midlands or the Yorkshire stations who have shows 3-6PM scheduled.

What does it say in the Radio Times? (I assume they still carry BBC Local Radio listings but don't have a copy yet)

Used by viewers in the EY&L region. Just the same as the hospital story recently from Leicestershire. Calendar is always an alternative to Look Levy if you really hate Look North that much.

And now a report on Levy Live about.
East Midlands Airport.
Proof again that this "show" really should be abandoned.

2-3 on 5 Live is a documentary about Strictly Come Dancing so not entirely out of place on BBC Local Radio but I'd be surprised if they don't replace the "best of" Danny Baker and crash out of the Formula 1 season review half way through at 6, especially when they could easily join Nottingham or Humberside for those three hours.

Looks like the schedule is correct then. I wasn't convinced by the explanation that 5 Live is used a default until the schedule is filled in - I've never seen that done before. Usual practice would be to state: 'Programmes will resume at 18:00'.

You could say *anything* was used by viewers of the EY&L. Viewers in the region go to Florida, so an excuse for a feature on Florida?
It's being done because they haven't got enough content for 30 minutes, other than give time to an egotist making strange noises between sentences and "banter" with a weather man.
Because the old biddies like it.

Is East Midlands Airport not the nearest airport to the region? Hardly a fair comparison.
JT
No. humberside airport is in the region. Would say the next nearest would be Robin Hood then Leeds Bradford.
I can't get as excited as Radiolistener about this, but I do think the EMA feature was pushing it somewhat.
All that said, I would prefer to keep a full LN EY&L than anything else.

EY&L to me doesn't seem to have a natural affinity as a region. However, EY&L gives Lincolnshire a better chance of actually getting any news on the bulletin than it would if Lincs was in the East Midlands fighting with stories from Nottingham and Leicester (and to a lesser extent Derby), where as the current region is Lincs plus the old 'Humberside' area.
Returning back to the old Yorks & Lincs region as part of a Leeds based Look North would be even worse.

Both Humberside and Robin Hood have a very limited selection of airlines and destinations available. East Midlands is 40 minutes closer by car from Lincoln than Leeds Bradford is.
It's an hour's drive from Lincoln, so easy commutable and thus potentially an important local employer for people in the patch too.
Therefore I would suggest that news about EMA fits the criteria of news of interest to people in the EY&L patch they wouldn't make it to the national bulletins.
To me it seems as if they realise that the boundaries of their transmission area are dictated by Physics rather than what makes editorial sense and are trying to put out a programme that is useful rather than pretending that anywhere without line of sight to Belmont doesn't exist.
