Yorkshire region have sent their weatherman, to the States for the eclipse.
And the regional reason for this is......?
Someone in Bridlington's great auntie's cousin's sister went there last year on their holidays, and as such the eclipse has so much more meaning for a Yorkshire family, there's a strong connection to the region...
or more realistically
some local news editor decided that they should have a jolly on ITV's dime
Why do Look North insist on framing the weather shot so wide? Now that part of the set is all white rather than the previous red panels it looks even more out of place.
Is the screen resolution not sufficient to get a closer shot?
I think the size of the presenter in the frame would be an issue. They can't go any further back as it's a rear projection set up which is very sensitive to the amount of light thrown on the screen from the front. They also can't get a bigger screen, as there's not enough space - the studio is pretty tiny.
