Thanks, the bulletin at 7:55 seemed the same as normal but apparently there was something special for the election at 7:25

Rachel Townsend back on late duty tonight after a while away, also John Shires & Lisa Adlam did the main programme tonight, wonder if Duncan, Christine, Gaynor, Sally, Jon Mitchell are all off this week?

How is that going to work with Look Hull?

How is that going to work with Look Hull?

I expect the Belmont part of Calendar will receive a fully pre-recorded edition hosted from the studio, probably by Gaynor and John. They've done that sort of thing before where an OB only appeared on one version. The Bradford teacher stabbing I think it might have been.

Is it still the case that the South Yorks/N Derbyshire (etc) area is lumped in with Lincs & E Yorks (etc) in terms of Calendar sub-regions?

If the south/east version of Calendar is a "business as usual" studio edition, then viewers in that area will only see the Look North "half" of the hour's shared OB. Post-6:30pm, Christine & Harry would therefore probably be at pains to avoid referring to having just been on ITV together, as this will be bemusingly incorrect for any channel-hopping viewers in the "South".

But equally it will look a bit random for Christine to pop up on BBC One with no reference - people will think she's done a Christa!

I expect they will still explain at the start of both programmes that they've joined up for a special programme, as many won't be watching both halves. Also I'm doubtful they will directly tell Calendar viewers to turn to BBC One at 6:30 for continuing coverage.

Jon Mitchell did the weather on ITV News London this evening.

It will be fascinating to see how this works. Whether they effectively do two separate programmes just with a borrowed co-presenter or if it's one long programme with special joint branding that switches channel at half time. I wouldn't be amazed if they went to town and borrowed Bradford Uni's scanner for the occasion.

Is Calendar usually off the air before Look North starts or is there a bit of overlap?

I'll be disappointed if there isn't banter between the respective weather presenters like the YTV/Tyne Tees joint Great Yorkshire Show programmes of the past.

However it turns out, great gesture from BBC Yorkshire and YTV.

Assuming the Six ends on time, which these days is rare, I think there would usually be an overlap. I can't recall if Calendar runs full length on a Friday, I know it's always shorter on a Tuesday.

I'm only guessing, but it may turn out than nothing more than recorded report 'packages', that are shown on both programmes, and perhaps an opposing presenter, as co-presenter on the other programme.
