Perhaps he used to be a plumber ?
I hate the way he sucks air in through his teeth before starting every item.

Well, if you take Leeds, Bradford and Sheffield out of Look North, it's obviously going to be a bit different. Same as viewers in the South East would have noticed a bit of a difference when they stopped having London in their region. It's a smaller region with less news in it.
Doesn't mean it's not worth doing, though, because it means there's more chance of local stories getting on. As mentioned, Calendar under Richard Whiteley still found time for plenty of celebrity interviews when they had the whole region to go at.
I think the issue with Peter Levy was that the Hull edition was originally so padded out with fluff it was a big difference from what had preceded it.

The first edition of Central News had a drinks party going on on the studio at the same to celebrate the launch of Central TV. It's on YouTube somewhere in its embarrassing glory.
Not that I agree with those views I should point out considering I live in the Emley Moor region and haven't seen a full length Peter Levy fronted programme since that time he presented across the region when they were on strike.
They seemed to get away with more in the 70s, different times of course,, there is that clip of Austin Mitchell taking his clothes off that used to get shown on any Calendar birthday montage for example.

Look North seem to be in one of those periods like they do maybe once a year where the bulletins come from an alternative location. Everything since the main one on Friday has been from a single camera angle set up, presumably the weather cupboard.
Also it wasn't mentioned but on two recent occasions, the main look North has been hosted by Amy and Lara together, last time this Thursday just gone.

Many of Owain's recent appearances have been from London (wired clicker is the giveaway, plus the noticeable NBH locations in his social media videos).
I guess with so many of the team having other commitments (Inside Out, Countryfile, National weather producing) having a bigger team becomes a necessity.

Presumably because they've made a few changes to the set over the weekend. They look to have changed above and below the fake newsroom prints to a lighter shade of grey and replaced them ugly red strips bordering the weather screen with a nice new grey surround.

I'm not convinced it's an improvement to be honest - in close up shots of the screen it looks pretty drab because of the lack of colour. And the slight blue tint of the new columns isn't quite the same colour as the rest of the white set lighting and makes the printed newsroom backdrop look a little yellowed.
Hopefully they will get round to sorting the picture quality which isn't as good as it could be.

Duncan Wood made a quip at the end of Calendar about now knowing Chyron supply Calendar's graphics; did anyone see what happened?
