There's really no news like regional news, tonight were treated to a report consisting solely of Peter Levy dressing up as James Bond on Look North:
This was great fun......we can go and see the pics at the CWDI building........ pic.twitter.com/3VmBNsTacw

Apparently on that day the South/East edition was a completely separate programme with Duncan live from Hull

Calendar with Gaynor & Jon Hill tonight, also nice to see a darker background
It's nice to see Jon hosting the first main programme of the year again, he has done this in previous years, excluding last year. Also David Hirst on sport tonight.

I know the fact the Yorkshire seaside resorts are each covered by different transmitters is a recurring topic of conversation here, so it was interesting how Calendar covered the storm surge.
They had the top 12 mins pan regional tonight, with 3 live OBs, which must have stretched the resources. Notably Jon Hill was live in Whitby on his, also covering the situation in Scarborough. I wonder if that was so he could report into Tyne Tees news as well, killing two birds with one stone so to speak.

The BBC's coverage should be fine, as long as no iconic ex leader of an country thousands of miles away doesn't semi-expectedly kick the bucket tonight

David has returned to the role of sports correspondent and I don't think he has appeared as a presenter this year yet.
Usually either John Shires, Chris Dawkes or David Hirst alternating.

Is the BBC Leeds weather hub still in operation during Breakfast? It seems to be covered by London mostly at the moment.
