Confirmed as new graphics from Monday, and a short montage of old regional weather forecasts, which I assume was available to all regions. Seemed a bit daft as Jon was the only in the VT that most in this region would know.
Well technically Michael Hunt was in the area until 1983 time - at least for Belmont viewers.
So basically introducing what the BBC did a decade or so ago. Really hope with these changes the regions return to using CSO rather than at the screen from an incredibly poorly shot angle.
Granada also used to regional montage but there was much much more including Anglia's Becky Jago when she was a weather girl, GMTV with Clare Nasir and UTV's very own Frankie Mitchell from the early 1990's.
Given the Leeds backdrop on the "windows", I assume that clip is from the West/North sub-regional part of the programme? In which case, the fact that the example weathermap used was of the South/East sub-region was a bit jarring.
Furthermore, the lack of labels for the likes of Chesterfield or King's Lynn rather does a disservice to viewers in the non-Yorks/non-Lincs parts of the patch.
Didn't viewers in north Norfolk complain about such lack of acknowledgement, when the current BBC weather graphics were first introduced on
Lincs-to-the-North/Look ULL/The Peter Levy Show Tonight
?

This was taken from ITV+1 from Emley Moor, which is the sub for East Yorks and Lincolnshire.

Can't remember an ITV map with Chesterfield labelled. Although I'd say the majority of people in Chesterfield receive from the Chesterfield TX (ITV relay from Belmont), although south of the town receive Emley Moor.
Was nice to see Claire Ashforth presenting calendar last night, wonder if we'll be seeing more of her and Sally Simpson whenever Christine and Gaynor are away, as Rachel is going on maternity leave again.
