Paul was on duty albeit in the CSO studio due to a slight redressing of the set.
Apparently she's hosting on Wednesday as well. Did she do the weather as well?
Who will we have tomorrow? Shirley Henry?

You'd probably be stepping into the same internal politics that meant Ian White never presented a bulletin even if they were short staffed for years that has only seemingly been relaxed recently.
Indeed, which is why I'm hoping there will be a chance sometime soon. I think she'd have been the perfect replacement for Christa Ackroyd in the first place!
Clare Frisby would be great. It must have been at least 10 years!

Keeley is doing the Ten, wonder if they've had an announcement made for her?
Judging by her Twitter biog, Clare produces the lunchtime bulletin as well as presents it, which is arguably a higher profile gig (internally at least) than presenting the main programme.

Presumably Paul and Keeley will be moved over to the BBC payroll with the weather changes (if not already) hence why they've been doing quite a lot of different roles and shows recently, Keeley doing the Countryfile stuff and Paul doing Inside Out (Or at Peter put it once 'Paul just introduces the show and lets everyone else do all the hard work!')

I'm under the impression that BBC regional weather presenters (rather than forecasters) are on the BBC payroll, expect for freelance cover.

If I remember correctly Paul was always an exception to the general rule of forecasters being employed by the Met Office. I believe that prior to the weather changes he already was directly employed by the BBC rather than the Met Office which explains why he was (or still is?) able to be the climate change correspondent for BBC News.

You can always trust Look North to cover the most important stories from around the region. All this week we've had coverage of Peter Levy going around the region on his "selfie tour". So far we've seen him going down a log flume, serving fish and chips and today we had him in Boston selling fruit on the market. I do wonder who is coming up with these ideas for news stories, a couple of weeks ago we had an in-depth report on how frozen peas are made, they made a huge fuss about it, even trailing it in the days before and giving the report its own hashtag.
They actually showed this, good grief.

I think a number of the regional forecasters who were employed at regional Met Office weather centres transferred with the closure of those regional weather centres - I assume the Leeds one wasn't the only one to close?
We had a visit to the Leeds one when I was in junior school in the late 80s, and we were shown around by one Bob Rust, who had pre-empted a rush of requests for his autograph with a pile of photocopies. (BBC North didn't have an in vision forecaster at the time, Brian Baines or Peter Levy did it out of vision at the end)

Oddly, the whole of tonight's Calendar was presented pan-regionally with the gallery background, bar the weather. The only reasoning I can think behind this is that the first breaking news story must have broke after either the East or West edition was recorded, however saying that I don't know why they couldn't cut to the opt outs after the first story like they usually do when the main story is shown pan-regionally.
Another odd occurrence: Keeley was presenting the weather for the lunchtime bulletins in the Midlands, East Midlands and North West this afternoon.
