Interesting move. Surprising it's from Hull though. Sarah Walton has come on leaps and bounds of late. Done the odd shift at BBC sport news as well.

I always thought that was rather pointless, just seconds after network had trailed the 'news, travel and weather where you are.'
The bulletins seemed much slower paced and I felt like I was watching another region like when they fail to opt out. There wasn't Clare's usual fast paced trailing of the weather or travel at the start like they used to be.

It would be the Leeds presenters that go bye bye, not Peter Levy. If the breakfast news is from Hull, stands to reason that if the main programmes merge, it's Hull's team that will be kept. They're not going to do Breakfast bulletins in Hull and the main programme in Leeds. There's a good reason for this too - Hull's facilities are newer.

Hull's facilities are a year or two older than Leeds's, unless they've had a refresh.
Hull moved in 2003, Leeds in 2004.

An interesting decision indeed, wonder how long the trial period is for, have they said? Breakfast opts do have a cost and so combining them would save some money. I'm not sure it would set a precedent for anywhere else though, staffing Oxford or Cambridge in the mornings wouldn't save any money for South and East respectively, as they've never been staffed for breakfast separately anyway. I had seen a tweet saying it was Claire's last breakfast shift, but hadn't realised it was Leeds' last one (for a trial period at least).

They haven't said, but then again they haven't said officially that the merge has occurred at all, neither in an announcement on screen or online.
The only mention of this merge is by a few tweets by some Look North staff responding to direct questions, so it's obviously being kept low key.
