It seems Radio Leeds are now capable of playing different station jingles during the night network. I notice them playing a Radio Leeds jingle at 11pm tonight. The question is do the other 3 stations still have the generic Yorkshire and Lincolnshire jingle or are they all benefiting.
Also it seems that the chilled music hour starting at 12.58am is meant to happen although it seems strange cutting off the end of the programme. I would text in to ask if this is supposed to happen but Alex Hall scares me! The way she talks to her listeners it's surprising she has any listeners left!
I think they've been doing that since the building move?

I can't believe they've not done this in the past. BBC stations in the West used to manage this in the 80s. Each station had a special triple-stack of cart machines in their racks room for this purpose. On an automated network cue, one cart would play a station jingle; a different cue would play the local phone number. The third cart slot never seemed to be used for some reason though.
The Midlands late show is capable of putting out separate news for East and West stations, but that may be something done at one of the West stations over the top of the feed from Nottingham.
Indeed.
On the West stations, you can play a game of ' Let's try & cut the newsreader off, while they give a time check' !
eg - 'It's now coming up to <snip> 'BBC in the Midlands Travel !
Admittley WM don't help, by having their travel at 15 past the hour, rather than 05, like the rest of the Midlands.
Mind you Frances Finn's not a patch on Alex Trellinski IMHO !

There's nothing inherently wrong with them, it's just.... think about the comments it might provide Christa Ackroyd and Ian White with if they were, how shall I put it, tipped off about Paul wearing such a thing? I'm keen to see this question answered, so tipped Leeds off about the picture about an hour ago!

I find her a bit of an acquired taste, not very easy listening. She seems a bit intolerant of people at times and generally stroppy.
Anyway, seems we are not alone, she just had a go at someone texting her saying she's horrible.
She's nice to me when I text her..... she's read four of mine out!
I'm surprised at that, Alex Hall is far cry away from the Radio Lincolnshire Drivetime show.
I think I might have a listen in a few minutes to see if she's as off hand as per usual, or whether John Ryan has sacked her yet for telling the listeners to go elsewhere!
There was one person (not me) that really annoyed her once - she kept texting Alex to ask her if she'd received her text message, and Alex told her to stop pestering her!
One of my texts to Alex was about her sore throat and cold - suggested she try a drink of hot water with honey, lemon and ginger in it. Top singers actually swear by the stuff.
I see the Midlands Late Show has one less listener tonight
Very good
EDIT: Or one more maybe, is Fat Simon one of ours as well then?
She's much less hostile tonight, I can tell you last night it was like she was having a breakdown.
EDIT 2: This is getting silly now. I can't tell whether or not other listeners are agreeing or whether its all you lot!. The way she reacted to that last one just before Midnight Memories was how she reacted to every one last night so she's obviously in a better mood tonight!
Me thinking about texting in about the cockup at 12.58am pales into insignificance now! (It's definally a mistake by the way as at 12.59 she was thanking callers from Leeds yet broadcasting only to the other 3)
Indeed, for once the programme actually passed as something decent rather than the usual mix of too much music.
Due to Tony Blair's appearance, they pushed the 5pm news back five minutes meaning when the top of the hour jingle was played it was clean without any pips.
Oh and Katherine Birkett, I think it might be a good idea to text Alex Hall as soon after 10pm as you can before she rings Missing Persons. 07786 202 924 as all that Midlands lot know far too well.
There's a profile of Liz Kershaw on the Radio Leeds site, yet she doesn't present anything at the moment I don't think. Plus they wouldn't have to record new jingles. The sung ones # Andrew and Liz # were probably expensive for just a few weeks use
