GMB bulletin was from the newsroom. What is taking so long? It's getting ridiculous now

They could be doing a lot more than replacing the studio. When my local NBC station launched HD news in January 2009 they were broadcasting from the newsroom from June - December 2008 (I think they launched the first weekend of 2009.) They completely redid their studios from the ground up, everything was brand new (except the robotic pedestals but those were replaced within a year) to the point where there was no legacy analog equipment was in use. I believe the actual construction and installation of the equipment was done by the beginning November but since everything was new they had to do a lot of rehearsals to get out all the kinks of their new system.

It doesn't mean they aren't launching it today just yet, some programs launch their new studio on their main programme.

That's a very good point. I imagine building a new set and fitting it out does take a long time. It'll all be worth the wait

ISTR Look North Leeds were in their CSO set in the conference room for longer when their set was last updated.

Because it's been over 4 weeks, thought that was obvious.

What's the point of doing that if the studio is ready? It must be more complicated to present from the newsroom so you would think they wouldn't do it if they had a choice.

From my experience over here in the US most new set launches occur in the evening during their flagship newscasts. I believe also they launch during the day because that's when most technical staff is available to work out the last minute kinks (despite having many rehearsals).
