and what is wrong with pink bathrobes
There's nothing inherently wrong with them, it's just.... think about the comments it might provide Christa Ackroyd and Ian White with if they were, how shall I put it, tipped off about Paul wearing such a thing? I'm keen to see this question answered, so tipped Leeds off about the picture about an hour ago!

A nice shot of Paul Hudson pointing out of his kitchen window at falling snow on Christmas Day on today's Hull show - what is slightly alarming is that he was wearing what appeared to me to be a pink bath robe!

I think you're being quite narrow minded here Katherine.
Is it now not even acceptable for men to stand pointing out of the window in their pink dressing gowns on Christmas Morning ?
What is the world coming to ?

It seems Radio Leeds are now capable of playing different station jingles during the night network. I notice them playing a Radio Leeds jingle at 11pm tonight. The question is do the other 3 stations still have the generic Yorkshire and Lincolnshire jingle or are they all benefiting.
Also it seems that the chilled music hour starting at 12.58am is meant to happen although it seems strange cutting off the end of the programme. I would text in to ask if this is supposed to happen but Alex Hall scares me! The way she talks to her listeners it's surprising she has any listeners left!

I find her a bit of an acquired taste, not very easy listening. She seems a bit intolerant of people at times and generally stroppy.
Anyway, seems we are not alone, she just got on the defensive at someone for texting her saying she's horrible. She has an odd approach. And what's with this interupting the music ridiculously early into the track.

She's nice to me when I text her..... she's read four of mine out!

I can't believe they've not done this in the past. BBC stations in the West used to manage this in the 80s. Each station had a special triple-stack of cart machines in their racks room for this purpose. On an automated network cue, one cart would play a station jingle; a different cue would play the local phone number. The third cart slot never seemed to be used for some reason though.

Emley lunchtime sort-of cock-up to report: Paul Hudson was wearing his clip-on microphone the wrong way round, resulting in that when he moved his arms to illustrate moving weather fronts etc... we could hear every second of the microphone rubbing against his shirt!
Whoopsie...

The Midlands late show is capable of putting out separate news for East and West stations, but that may be something done at one of the West stations over the top of the feed from Nottingham.

A year ago she quite often faded callers off when some of her (older) listeners used outdated sexist or midly racist comments. Not to mention she's one of those liberal types who would have a go at someone if they said that smacking kids was ok.
Now she seems to be constantly snapping at folk. Someone texted in asking if there was any reason for their ITV picture being a bit dodgy. She was sharp saying how she was supposed to know. Someone later on said it might have been because of what happened with Emley Moor and explained the story. She snapped at them saying of course she knew all about it!
When people text saying they don't like her, she tells them to go and listen to something else!
Having said all this she must be popular as she's been a fixture of late night radio in West Yorkshire since the early 90s. She used to do a similar show on The Pulse (The ILR station for the western half of West Yorks)
