I suspect the Look North bit was recorded, just from the way the piece ended, cutting from a mcu shot of Cameron to a 2 shot of Harry and Amy. It just looked like the kind of thing you would do to avoid continuity issues rather than closing the interview on a wide shot and then cut to a 2 shot as the presenters turn to that camera to introduce the next package.
Or I might be reading too much into it!
David Cameron live on Calendar and Look North tonight. I wonder if he was truly live on Calendar as it's quite tight to get from one to the other in 10 mins.

Look Leeds seem to have followed the crowd by attempting to darken the newsroom background in their studio for the late news. Tonight, they've even wheeled out their old LCD screen from the 2006 set to sit behind the presenters, and they have somebody doing some camera panning/zooming.

Very faint and only in parts, but at the end I could definitely hear "5 4 3 2 1".

Regular viewers of Peter Simon during the Bid days would be familiar with hearing talkback, presumably as he had his earpiece loud.
Indeed, talkback was clearly heard throughout the bulletin. Not sure how that manages to happen.

Possibly - but if a spare / backup cable earpiece has not been turned down, it can sometimes be heard if the gallery is loud enough.
