Maybe not when the editor in charge returns...
Paul Hudson was back this week and he was the latest to retweet positive comments about Ian White being back on the sofa, so it seems to be a universally positive move.
He did the late bulletin on Thursday, back to his old stomping ground.

He's been back since August 18th.

Edit: Clare tweeted to say she'd been off having an operation on her foot.
Does anyone know where Claire Frisby is? She hasn't been on Look North Breakfast for weeks.
@RM1708 Back next week.

I understand that in addition to the 'live' TV bulletins the 'Look North' weather presenters also provide forecasts to other BBC radio and TV outlets but having 5 people to deliver this content does seem a little 'heavy'. I am not questioning the quality of the product or work ethic of those involved merely the number of on-screen personnel needed to deliver 4x 'live TV broadcasts on each weekday (1x breakfast, 1x lunchtime, 1x teatime and 1x bedtime) and 1 on a Saturday and 2 on a Sunday (all of which appear to be pre-recorded) as well as the local radio and other local TV coverage. I seem to recall it wasn't that long ago that there were only 2 weather presenters to deliver a similar work-load and that may well have been a bit 'light' but 5 does seem a generous allocation of resources in my view.

I think you're overlooking a few things there - when there were just two in the team there were no weekend forecasts and they were just looking after one programme. Then Hull launched, then the regional forecasts at weekends and more recently they took on doing of peak weather for the North East.
Add into the mix that Kay has been doing a fair amount of radio work covering on various stations, Keeley is doing some radio presenting and reporting for Inside Out you can see why there might be a need for somebody else.
In fact according to her Twitter, Keeley is working in London for a couple of weeks, so it may just be temporary cover for that.

It appears that Lisa is not working as many days since coming back from maternity leave also.
Personally I cannot see what the problem is. It's not like the BBC will be paying five full time salaries. Though if the Daily Mail got hold of this it certainly would be portrayed as such!
