I've been on holiday in various different regions this Summer, and like every dedicated TV Forumer I make sure I try and catch the regional news, and it has to be said, you don't realise how good both our regional news programmes are until you watch some others.
The double headed format works here, the presenters are natural, the banter flows well within the lighter stories, the weather presenters also work well as part of the team.
I'm in Wales at the moment, and I've also been to Scotland, and it might be because both are national news programmes rather than regional, but all four programmes are single headed, overly serious, no fun and games towards the end and any banter with the weather presenters or anyone else seems forced and stilted. I doubt the single headed format would work here. (I'm not counting Peter Levy's show because that's a different thing altogether)

BBC London is also similar to Wales and Scotland with more formal presentation.

The Peter Levy show is so stale now - old black and white images in the titles, this constant send us your views - text, email and hotline numbers and the weather pic shown by peter. It hasn't evolved or made any changes to the format for well over 5 years surely?!

Pretty sure it's Breakfast making use of regional reports, rather than the other way round.
The report on train spotting on Look north tonight was an edit of the same on used on Breakfast this morning. Is this now a regular thing, the regions reusing Breakfast reports?

"Hello dear! How are you dear? Did you get your pension today, dear? Yes it's Peter dear, with a few dodgy council stories, something about Fuzzy Wuzzies (but we can't obviously say that dear in 2014) and some nice young men in the second half, dear! Yes, just for you, dear..... Some Daniel O'Donnell dear, well if he's ever in Hull dear, we'll get him, dear, lovely dear!"

The report was by Colin Patterson though, a network reporter.
