Yep, just seemed a strange coincidence that it appears that as soon as his back's turned whoever is deputising has reversed an unpopular decision he made.

That made it look like she stood up on air. She moved to the screen while a short VT was playing out. Perhaps not ideal but didn't seem terrible.
Can't believe what I've just seen. Keeley doing the news then standing up to do the weather. Look North really has gone downhill, ridiculous.

No different to presenters on the main Look North (and indeed the national news) doing some parts of the programme from the desk/sofa and others from the screen?

Now the weather presenter closes the program it looked better than it could have done. If the newsreader still did the close she would have had to have gone back into news reader mode whilst still stood in front if the weather.
It must be difficult for the presenter, reading the news off autocue and then doing the weather from memory at the same time.

wouldn't have been difficult for her to turn 90 degrees to a different camera pointing at the newsroom backdrop to close if she wasn't closing the bulletin with her weather hat on and they didn't want to close with the weather background

All the presenters on Twitter are making a lot of fuss about it as well, so it seems moving Ian off the studio was an unpopular decision for all concerned.
Talking about presenters, I've just realised that Clare Frisby hasn't been on for about 5 weeks. Just an observation.
