Granada's Rachel Townsend presented Calendar with Duncan tonight.

Tyne Tees' weatherman Ross Hutchinson did a report about a new musical that is heading our way in about 6 months time. Obviously one of those syndicated reports.

Getting Phil Bodmer to do a live OB from just in front of the BBC building and then struggling to read his update due to the wind, was a bit daft it has to be said.

There did seem to be something rather Monty Python about that whole sequence. Wink

Cockup on Calendar tonight. They started playing the weather a few minutes early and then crashed out of it into an interview that was already ongoing.

When the weather aired properly they aired the Calendar East version on the West programme.

Talking about the weather, for the first time in this area it was presented by Simon Parkin. When a weather person was needed to talk about the storms earlier in the programme, they used Lucy Verasamy down the line from London. Obviously neither Jon or Kerrie were working today.

London's Martin Stew did it this afternoon.

Granada's Jo Blythe tied up doing Tyne Tees/Border, an explanation for an unfamilar face.

I seem to remember that the news team were explicitly prohibited from doing pointless links from outside queenies gardens. Of course this was a few years back and we all know how BBC Hull 'learns lessons' trouble is it forgets them pretty quickly too.

I think Phil's piece would have been outside BBC Leeds rather than Hull

Ah it wasn't clear from the post. They have the same HLRP so I'm surprised they did it in Leeds.

Does Peter Levy still take as few rare holidays as he used to when he was in Leeds now he's hit the big time?

Generally - very few! Poss three years ago or so he took three or four weeks in the year but has returned back to having just Christmas off in recent years and maybe one more week.

Amy Cole is gradually getting better though. Used to call her Amy Cold. More of a bulletin presenter than a full programme but I guess with little chance to try out with Mr Levy being ever present then options are limited. At least it isn't the shouty and pompous Tim Iredale covering.

Meanwhile over on Calendar, like the old days, Jo Blythe doing the weather. Looking pregnant I think (although I've made that mistake before!!!
