No Look North at the moment on Virgin Media, a news channel simulcast instead.

Edit: And it's back - crashed in mid report just as Clive Myrie was reading the headlines.

Since when has Paul been doing a live Weather forecast from the studio on the 10:25pm bulletin?

Since the Weather Hub was introduced ages ago - many regions now have recorded breakfast and lunch bulletins but live 6pm and 10pm forecasts.

Could this be the Christa payoff we have all been wondering about? Wink

This is so sad and I for one, will miss her.

There can't be too many presenters who have just disappeared without explanation from a news programme on different channels. She left Calendar under a cloud in 2001 and wasn't allowed to say goodbye to the viewers, and now, twelve years later, it looks like the same thing is going to happen again.

I'd like to thank Christa for all she's done on regional TV news in Yorkshire for the last 23 years, and I wish her well for the future

I won't.
She left Calendar for more money, not "under a cloud" as you say.
Once she handed in her notice she could not continue there.
The Beeb also contributed to her extra earnings for a newspaper article she was requested not to continue.
I can't think of many employers giving so much lee-way.
Remember it's public money LN have wasted over the last few months.
The hint of taxation is an interesting aspect too.

Congratulations to Harry Gration, who has been awarded the MBE for Services to Broadcasting in the Queen's Birthday Honours List. No Damehood for Christa though

Just Tweeted by Ian White, it wouldn't be a Look North party without Chris... I mean, Dickie Bird

About to post this myself, I wonder if the man on the left is going to be Ms Ackroyd's replacement? Very Happy

Why should she be honoured? She's not known outside a local TV area and her now defunct newspaper column.
It always puzzles me that folk get kudos rewards for their professional work.
I've done nearly 40 years in my trade and don't expect anymore than a pay cheque at the end of every month.
