I really do think this thread has run its natural cause now - it's virtually impossible to asimilate information on the goings-on of regional TV in Yorkshire & Lincolnshire.

I can't believe that nearly every page has some kind of Katherine vs Whoever comment, whether it's her defending herself or people saying none-too-kind things...

May I suggest we carry on in that new "Yorkshire" thread which was accidentally created?

well i have, somehow, managed to cope with the stressful and hectic concept of conversation in the thread.

perhaps if you don't feel you're able to keep up, one of you're friends or a family member could make bullet point briefings of the main bits of information so you can easily digest it.

honestly, katherine posts about something, someone replies (to a post, that katherine made publicly) - whats the problem?

don't be so wet.

Yes, I mean what makes you think that the same won't continue in the other thread ? Is it some kind of utopian land of pink fluffy bunny rabbits where a crossed word is never spoken or something ?

I've heard it has magic properties.

Although I fear it may be a repressed society where you are hung, drawn and quartered for mentioning the 'A' word.

Tonight's Calendar was fast and furious reacting to the breaking news that Sheffield MP David Blunket has resigned. They dedicated the start of the programme to it and had YTV's Political Editor Tim Iredale in the studio

They also featured the latest in Frazer Maude's 'Cut Price Christmas' reports.

Then towards the end of the programme they showed a clip of the Blunket interview with ITV News which had been recorded off the ITV News Channel 2 minutes earlier and came with all their graphics and clock. This meant there was only just enough time for the weather and about 5 seconds between the weather summary and the start of the ITV Evening News. They had to drop the usual 'weather' sting.

Look North Leeds had further reaction to David Blunkett's resignation, and Harry Gration was in Sheffield gauging that reaction with a live O/B. Christa Ackroyd remained in the Leeds studio with more news stories.

I'd love to meet this Andrew and David, and share with my Katherine Birkett banter delights.

But if we've learnt one thing from this kids, put your headphones on before speaking to weathermen. Laughing

At a time when regional output is seemingly in decline, It's good to see Yorkshire TV putting out "Sing a Song of Christmas" for four nights at 5.30pm this week with the final programme at 11.05am on Christmas Eve.

This is what Digiguide says :

MUSIC: Sing A Song Of Christmas
Channel: ITV1 Yorkshire
Date: Monday 20th December 2004
Time: 17:30 to 18:00 (starting tomorrow afternoon)
Duration: 30 minutes.
Gaynor Barnes presents a celebration of seasonal music and song from Leeds Parish Church, featuring favourite carols and Christmas classics sung by performers from across the region including the Sing Live Chorus and the Leeds Parish Church Choir. With scenes from the nativity performed by Yorkshire and Lincolnshire schoolchildren and guest celebrities reading Christmas verses written by the public.

That's 2.5 hours of additional new regional content this week then, particularly noteworthy as many regions are just putting out repeats of unseasonal programming.

So, people in Leeds and the surrounding area aren't entitled to any regional output are they ? If you bothered to read past the location you'd noticed that performances are by people from across the region. Here, let me help you.

There is being critical and moaning for the sake of it. I guess you'd have preferred repeats of That's Your Lot. Each to their own.

That'll be the waitress in the cafe Max and Paddy unwittingly held up. Very Happy

I spent the whole episode trying to work out where I'd seen her before.

Shame that BBC1 Yorkshire didn't introduce the news bulletins today with the new Christmas pudding ident. As far as I know, BBC1 Midlands and BBC1 South have a regional variation of this ident - so why can't we?
