I think it is now common place for regions not to say goodbye. In Meridian Sangeeta had to mumble a goodbye as if she'd get in trouble by not following procedure. London meanwhile as you said had the same, when watcing I found it quite rude for Nina not to say goodnight. I think the viewer is aware that the national news is after the regional bulletin regardless of whether or not the presentation has ITV News slapped over it.
A better use for the newsroom newswall tonight - the left two monitors showing the ITV News website, the middle two used to cover viewer response to the main stories on Facebook and Twitter and the right two displaying VTs associated with the leads. I suspect this will become a regular feature on Calendar.
Plenty of variety with the Cal... sorry,
Yorkshire
weather today: Jon's pre-records from last night on Daybreak, Ross Hutchinson providing the 1135 forecast from Gateshead, Jon back at lunchtime in a different jacket and shirt - and another completely different outfit for the main evening bulletin! One of the charts still had a "summary text" left in, too.
Duncan's presenting live out in Leeds city centre tomorrow - I'm guessing Kate/Gaynor/whoever will be studio bound.

Nice guest appearance from Peter Levy (& Clare Frisby) on Look North Leeds tonight
As part of an article about 30 years of BBC Breakfast News regional opt-outs including an explanation of the old self-opt desk. A report done of course by Ian White.
I assume that was in reference to the fact Peter presented Look North before the BBC North region split in two forming the current Yorks and Lincs and Yorkshire regions?
Look North being clever with their studio this evening, with Amanda stood in front of the projector screen with a Tour De France backdrop, and the live reporter superimposed onto the printed backdrop behind the sofa. Looked good!
I'm surprised they managed to keep up the "Welcome to ITV News, you're watching Calendar" business and the no goodbye ending with John Shires on duty. He's old school and usually throws in mentions of ITN News and calls the channel ITV even when it was called ITV1.
