All seems to be a lot of internal BBC politics. Even though Ian is no longer on lates it seems that means he will never present any bulletin, even if the rest of the newsroom was off sick. Same that Clare Frisby never appears outside of Breakfast except for one day at Christmas. They have all kinds of presenters doing lunchtimes depending on who is on/whether there is an OB in the main programme later/who is the right suitable 'face' to be around to do the 8pm etc, yet it's never Clare at lunchtime.

It does seem strange to me, I remember maybe 8 years ago each bulletin had it's own flagship presenter if my memory serves me right.

Breakfast & Lunchtimes were presented by Clare Frisby, the evening bulletin was presented by Harry Gration & Christa Ackroyd and the late bulletin was presented by Ian White.

When Clare Frisby left for maternity leave I seem to remember the lunchtime bulletin was presented alternately between the two evening presenters (in much the same way the late news is now, this carried on once she returned but I can't remember how long for) and when Clare Frisby returned from maternity leave she only presented during Breakfast.

I could be wrong with my facts as these are from memory.

It might simply have been Clare's choice to work fewer hours when she came back from maternity leave (as many people do due to childcare arrangements etc)

When did Cathy Killick last present Look North? She used to be the regular stand in in the days when Sophie Raworth and Clare were the main female presenter.

Indeed but there must be company politics at play when you consider she never ever does lunchtimes surely.

Lunchtimes tends to be either Amanda Harper or Nicola Rees these days in a shift which also includes doing the 8pm update, although sometimes Keeley Donovan does lunchtimes as well. This is excluding Fridays which always seems to be presented by Christa Ackroyd.

Clare Frisby with Paul Hudson this lunchtime, not often you see Clare after 9am thesedays.

Only ever happens at Christmas - she's a great presenter so it's a shame we don't see her doing other slots or the main show. Beats Nicola Rees that's for sure.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree.
I can't stand her presentation "style" or whatever she calls it:
"I'll shout and talk really quickly at the start and mention a load about the weather then say 'but first' and keep saying 'gonna be' several times through out the bully rather than 'will be' and sit left shoulder to camera and talk quietly at the end without pauses." If you don't believe me about the gonna be's let's have a sweepstake! I reckon at least 3 the next time she's back on LN Breakfast.

Is that similar to the 'BBC Brighton' one that pops up nationally?

From memory re BBC Brighton - not quite. BBC Hull repeated on backdrop on bottom quarter. Similar to Belfast/NI I think, but without the frosted glass, if that makes sense?!

Slight adjustment on the later bulliten (from the stationary cupboard) following complaints that it is Look North not Look ULL. They spent years trying to convince the public they were not ULL centric only to Bu@@er it up at Christmas. Rolling Eyes

Look North weather with Jennifer Bartram this lunchtime. In previous years we didn't usually get any weather on New Year's Day.

The Nations and Regions hub (at the BBC Weather Centre) appears to be covering some regions today.

They could have also covered BBC London, but they hired freelancer Georgina Burnett instead for today.
