Maybe but the 2001-2003 Granada Reports was pretty good in my opinion.

More turnover ahead at Look North Hull with Phil Norton going to Heliopter Heroes for a few months and Siobhan Robbins going down to London permanently. Leanne Brown has gone to NWT for six months as well.

So I wonder if we will see Edward Sault and Amy Cold (sorry I mean Cole - but she is so so cold to the casual viewer) stay longer than their loans which I am sure were six months.

Is Caroline Bilton due back any time from maternity?

Pity they can't close the bloody thing down and transfer the lot back to Leeds.

Maybe Troggles will know, but does Leeds have any room for a second studio to do Hull from?

Leeds hardly has room for a studio to do Leeds from.

Are Helicopter Heroes changing their format, or is Phil Norton doing an off-screen role? Last time I watched only Rav Wilding was seen/heard

Siobhan Robbins was back on Look North reporting yesterday. I guess then just a short term return?

Yes from what I have seen, the studio looks more cramped than Hull's.

So hang on, the Beeb spend all that money to move them from Woodhouse Lane to near the Kremlin, and they haven't got much studio space? That's utterly, utterly ridiculous.

It's pretty much what they've done around the country, move out of big expensive buildings full of outdated equipment into somewhere that's cheaper but only fit for the requirements at the time they moved.

Pebble Mill to the Mailbox is a prime example.

Unions would beg to differ if you attach that to the Mill and Mailbox...

I hear a studio complex down Kirkstall Road might need some customers.....

It all came about because it was the era of 'The BBC must be close to the licence fee payer' In other words internet coffee shops and expensive city centre leases.

Hull for example was built in retail space. It's a triangular shape and utterly impractical. The studio was bunged in the only large space available - total cost £24 million. The blue screen studio is a glorified stationary cupboard . Leeds fared slightly better but again the studio seems to be an afterthought.

You would think that given the BBC has 75+ years of experience of studio building it could have done better but there you are , that's BBC management.

Any decisions to remerge the 'regions' are to do with BBC politics as much as anything. However I would ask if it is justifiable to Have 2 HLRP's plus 2 editors and associate PA's etc?
