Couldn't have said it better myself Alf! Yes it is good news Katherine and I wish the couple all the best but it's certainly not BREAKING NEWS. As soon as I saw those two words in capital letters, seconds before I read the rest of your post, I thought something terrible had happened like a plane crash on a Yorkshire village.

I'm not letting you get away with slandering the people I like and have a huge amount of respect for, Alf. Both the people you so willingly and keenly denigrate are, I can assure you, friendly and sociable people off-camera. They appreciate my support, are interested in me and like to know what I think about the show. Lord knows, I've met them enough times off-screen to know what they're like when they're not on telly, and give educated responses based on FACT, which you don't have at your disposal! They happen to be thoroughly professional people who genuinely do get on well together.
Until you know what arrangements they'll make for childcare (not that they'd tell you anyway), I advise you to hold your fire.

For goodness sake, calm down Katherine. Obviously it means a lot to you. Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted at the news, but it's not a big issue is it? Now can we please talk about something else on Look north, please, pretty please?

Obsessive springs to mind.......now where is Mick Douglas when you need him.
As for the petty jibe at the production of Calendar, it was 1968 for god's sake and they didn't actually have the studios ready for opening day, and a good part of it burnt down just prior to it going on air. The BBC had the luxury of having the shiny new box some months in advance.
Pitthy, obnoxious and extreme are some words currently on my lips, now will somebody give Katherine a slap. Oh by the way, apparently, a film is due to be released about your syndrome Katherine - but even he couldn't actually find out what it was.
To the rest of the forum, it's greetings from the Hudster's new home in Scotland and thanks to Sky I can still take part in this exceedingly compact forum.

Anyone know what we're getting over Christmas? Will Leeds and Hull be providing seperate bulletins or will it be a joint effort? And if it is a joint effort will it be Leeds or Hull (or does that depend which side of Yorkshire Peter Levy is spending Christmas at?)
I guess there will be more flexibility about who can present as they won't need to know how to self op any more

IMO, I can't see them going back to the old ways i.e. pan regional bulletins.

Paul Hudson is to become Daddy Hudson in a few months - Nicola Hudson announced her pregnancy on the end of tonight's Hull show! Nicola was presenting alongside Peter as Helen Philpot's in Lapland!
Here's to the patter of tiny barometers!

I predict they might on Boxing Day. Previously it was Tom Ingall self opting, so they will already need more staff in Leeds as the self-opt isn't available anymore.
I expect Hull will have Peter or Helen most other days as they don't really seem to have that many presenters in the first place
Calendar News and Sport was presented tonight by John Shires which is unusual. Nicola (that's Crompton not Hudson) was on Calendar again on Friday

Not necessarily - I think I'm right in saying that one of the galleries is still operated by just one person, they're just the director rather than the presenter
