Well it's not often Christa is off - in fact she seems to barely take any time off at all! Excluding that month or so a while back when she disappeared.
You're right, there does seem to be a lot of politics. I never ever understood the decision to remove Ian White, a very familiar presenting face of 11 years, from any sort of presenting duties. Phil Bodmer is alright but I'd much rather see Ian White back on the sofa filling in, even on the other updates. They sometimes even drag in Tom Ingall from Sheffield instead!
I thought the same about Amy Garcia who seemed to go from occasional fill in presenting to main programme quite quickly. It doesn't seem to take much before they look quite short staffed lately.
There seems to be a lot of politics surrounding who can present what at Look North, for example Ian White and Clare Frisby. On Calendar there seems to be more flexibility.
It's Harry's last Look North tomorrow before he goes to do the Olympics, I presume we will have Phil Bodmer filling in for 3 weeks in his absence.
