Not seen Look North, but watching back on +1, Calendar certainly provided strong coverage of the BAE job cuts in Brough story this evening, intergrated wonderfully into Ben Erlam's report from the Labour conference in Liverpool - as well as handling what was then the breaking developments from Kellingley; even getting an on-the-scene report by the end of the show.

They had Charlotte Leeming at the scene, but she didn't have much to report other than the Air Ambulance arriving on scene. After the flustered start the program went back to it's normal self - most of the program wasn't actually about the situation but they said there'll be much more coverage on the late news.

It's been said already that Phil Bodmer is doing work in London - he has now said it's till new year! Wonder if it'll be a Stuart Flinders-esque thing and we'll see him reporting initially and then on the News Channel?

On Calendar as part of the BAE Systems story, was that Peter Levy you could see lerking in the background whenever they did a wideshot?

Brough would be Peter Levy territory and Kellingley is Christa and Harry/Nik territory, so it's not really fair to compare with a pan-regional Calendar.

Nicola Rees doing the late bulletin tonight - has she presented before? Apologies for the poor cap.

I think I saw on Twitter that she got drafted in to present with a few minutes' notice a few weeks ago when the scheduled presenter wasn't available for some reason.

Yes, she was drafted in at the last minute to do a 3pm bulletin after a rota mix up - since then she's done a few 3pms, but last night was her first main bulletin.

With Harry being off ill and Phil having gone to London, plus Ian being taken off presenting, they're now a bit short of men!

There's no reason why it has to be a man and a woman presenting

Bit of an "Oops" moment on Look North Leeds

(this screenshot contains a word that wouldn't get through the swear filter if it were typed here so I've put it spoiler tags so people have a choice of whether to see it)

Anyone see that Leeds United thing last night?

I watched from 'out of area' & confirmed one thing. You can't trust Ken Bates as far as you can throw him!

I wonder who will replace her - that is if Hull keep a weather presenter.. (I hope and assume that's the case or we'll be getting lots more down-the-lines from London!)
