Whoever gave Keeley Donovan a presenting job needs their head looking at, she's useless and as wooden as a door. She's not that good as a weather presenter either.

I wish she wouldn't keep doing both roles most Saturdays. If she's doing the news as well, we don't get a proper weather forecast because she can't stand in front of the map.

I am sure the actual forecast is no different in content or length though! But do know where you are coming from.

We get a pre record of her on LN Hull

I've never understood why she can't just stand and do the weather. When Midlands Today presenters do this, they stand for the whole bulletin on a Midlands Today backdrop and then do the weather.

Probably because pedalling an autocue while standing is awkward

Not really awkward. The 8pm is done using a magneto pedal while stood up. Quite comfy really. Even I can use it!

I see that BBC NE & Cumbria (is there a thread for them? Couldn't find it) have tried to out do the Symphony for Yorkshire that our version(s) of Look North made last year, by commissioning Benjamin Till who made it to compose and direct a musical about the Tyne and Wear Metro.

Oh christ, first time I've seen that. http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w191/2007TopGearDog/icon_pale.gif

The worst part is it's been over a year in the making... the 30s Radio Newcastle ads were bad enough.

Thread's o'er here, by the way.

Thanks for that - I assumed it was the Border region thread, forgetting that the BBC and ITV regions aren't identical, and the Border/Tyne Tees news merger.

Heard that Radio Humberside have gone down the route of the generic BBC local package today. Must be less than a year since the repackaged versions of the long standing jingles.

Besides BBC Manchester who seem to have almost the same autonomy as BBC London, I think that is everyone in the north now. Radio Lancashire changed over a few weeks ago.

Blimey - that's quite odd. I didn't dislike it - high production values and they've clearly invested a lot of time and effort into producing it. In these times of belt-tightening at the BBC though, it probably has to be questioned how much that has cost.

Dear god that sounds bad. Never been a fan of Bumbleside, but now it all sounds the same bland pap Five Live would be a better use of the frequency.

I can only assume it had been commissioned and enough work had been done on it that it couldn't be dropped before the license fee settlement.

It's not like me to post in here, but Look North* must be fab, if this clip is anything to go by. It makes Reporting Scotland look like a horror movie in comparison.

Could someone tell me: who is the lady presenter?
