The other issue is that (in Leeds) those monitor lights need to be easily set up as the images are changed to redress the set for the Politics Show/Final Kick Off/Superleague Show
A rare interview just now on the late Look North Leeds with Micheal Crick, Newsnight's political editor. Presumably this is the reason they opted out late and missed the beginning of the weather.

OMG, I can't watch Calendar because Kate Walby or whatever she's called gets on my nerves. She's the most annoying presenter that Calendar has ever had, hate her voice and everything about her!
Totally bizarre Look North bulletin this evening - the opening went completely wrong, flicking between the closing slide, one of the headline images and then 2 seconds of the opening titles. Charlotte Leeming presented, who hasn't presented for months now (not since her stint at North West Tonight, I don't think!) - and Paul Hudson was doing the weather! They must be very short of staff.
It does seem the days of it always being Ian White on Sundays are completely over - he's not done it for months, often Phil or Amanda nowadays. Opening was a bit of a vt issue... obviously
Looking at Look North Cumbria Jeff seemas to be presenting a lot at the moment , he seems very down to earth and more in touch with the viewers and seems to have a very friendly style. so where is Carol Malia these days?

Just to point out - this is the wrong thread, there is a North East thread somewhere I believe. And Carol Malia is currently off, she's just had her second baby - I imagine she'll be back later this year.

Whoever gave Keeley Donovan a presenting job needs their head looking at, she's useless and as wooden as a door. She's not that good as a weather presenter either.

I wish she wouldn't keep doing both roles most Saturdays. If she's doing the news as well, we don't get a proper weather forecast because she can't stand in front of the map.
I've never understood why she can't just stand and do the weather. When Midlands Today presenters do this, they stand for the whole bulletin on a Midlands Today backdrop and then do the weather.

To be honest it's only Genelle & Ben (the 'more junior' weather presenters on MT!) that stand up in front of the screen & do both the Saturday lunch news & weather.
Everyone else, including Shefali(the 'senior' weather presenter, when she reads the news ) sit at the desk & handover to a n other weather presenter, either as precord or live in the same studio! (This will also happen on Saturday lunchtimes when Ben or Genelle are not available!)
