Late Look North was amusing last night with Ian White in full breaking news mode regarding the earthquake. Talking to an eyewitness on the phone, and asking for reports to be sent in.
I can't imagine the coverage being as extensive if anyone else had been presenting last night.

I do miss seeing Ian sometimes in Lincs - he occasionally pulled out the anorak and could well imagine him on Breaking News mode! Practised in his bedroom for years no doubt!
In radio news - tonight sees the start of James Hoggarth programme on BBC Lincolnshire as well. Starting at 7pm (so less Sportstalk on Humberside - no a huge problem on quieter nights as they really struggled for callers sometimes).
Running only Mon-Thu though on BBC Lincs. Much better than the Folk, Country, Celtic shows that were on which were so inaccessible to the casual listener.

It's a shame to see that Look North have gone back to their old ways, when the new set was launched the headlines opt-in and the sport was done standing up, using images, which looks much nicer - they often used a side angle too to use an image with a story on the projector screen. However, this seems to have gone straight back to old, with the sports presenter and the headlines opt-in done sitting down with no image, with the exact same angles and styles as in the old set. Perhaps Look North could do with a little creativity?

The new set looks good redressed for the Politics Show (just a slight red fringe on the right hand side of the projector where they've covered one of the red lit panels with a silver column. It'll be interesting to see what they do for Late Kick Off tomorrow.

I don't suppose anyone knows what happened at 7.30 this morning on the LN Yorks Breakfast bulletin? Watching on Sky, and we got London News for about half a minute, before crashing into LN, mid-way through a report.
Towards the end of the report there was some microphone rustling noise, and when Claire appeared, she was noticeably out of breath and having trouble speaking. She'd recovered by the end of the next report.

I noticed this too - Clare looked and sounded quite distressed and upset when reading out the other news stories, however like you said she was fine after the report had played out.
On another note, it's nice to see Tanya Arnold presenting sport on Breakfast yesterday and today - first time?

She did some of the bulletins from Wimbledon last year. Can't remember if she's done them in the studio before.

Look North EY&L seem to have shaken a few posts up.
Caroline Bilton (nee Davis) is now referred to as Rural Affairs Correspondant (or similar). Been a while since she has done any bulletins. That said Peter is off next week, so usually she would deputise.
Anne Marie Tasker is doing a lot of bulletins and noticed that Sarah Burton from Radio Humberside doing Breakfast bulletins this morning.
Kate Sweeting seems to do a few of the 8pm updates - not the best I have to say.
At least not seen too much of Crispin Rolfe with his up (surprised) and down (serious) voice of late.
