I'll provide some caps as soon as Look North appears on iPlayer, unless anyone does before me - I'm afraid I can only cap from live streams or iPlayer streams.
Either way, the studio's nice but a bit disappointing, would have been great to see a desk and the camera angles are pretty much all the same other than Tanya standing for the sport. No mention of the new studio either, no doubt Ian White will though in the late bulletin.

I'd say though that the fake newsroom in the background looks smaller than the actual BBC Leeds newsroom.
I'm not a fan of these massive fake newsroom backgrounds on regional news. It works ok on the national news, but on regional news it's a bit over the top.

Hmm - the problem with projected or printed 'fake' newsroom backdrops is that you have to be very careful with the camera heights and angles you shoot the screens or the perspective looks wrong (and you can't do decent tracks because there is no parallax in the background only the foreground).
The weather hand shots make the newsroom backdrop look very odd indeed.

Yes, the problem is that the refurb of the set has shown up just how limiting the BBC Leeds studio is - it's really small and you can't really arrange it any other way. Just imagine how good a big new regional set would have looked at Woodhouse Lane and compare it to what we have now!

If BBC Leeds was still at Woodhouse Lane, the studio was much bigger, so we would have had a massive new set, which would have looked fantastic. And would have made the studio more flexible when changing for the politics show and the super league show.
