I remember on Friday in the late 90s Radio Leeds shunted their sport programme to AM and Kevin Howells did a snowline programme on FM from 7pm - 1am. Seem to recall that the match on AM was cancelled and the frequencies rejoined.

Radio York have stayed on air through the night during flooding on occasion, I remember David Dunning presenting with Elly Fiorentini producing.

Harry Gration reporting for the Lunchtime Look North from Calderdale. Is that a regular thing for the 6.30 presenters to report at 1.30?

Harry and Christa have been out in the snow all week for the 1:30 and 6:30 - they usually alternate presenting the 1:30 anyway in the studio.

Harry Gration even appeared on the NC about 9:30 on Wednesday morning, but he was soon replaced.

The team at Look North must be delighted they've been able to present the programme on location for most of the week so they don't have to use the 'corner of the conference room quality backdrop' set Smile

And presumably hoping there's no snow to report on for Monday, so they can show off their new studio Laughing

Will Look North come from the new studio on Monday then?

Hopefully, it's been more than two weeks now - saying that, Points West is still waiting for theirs..

Is the Politics Show broadcasting from Hull or the new studio in Leeds today?

The new studio, although we didn't get to see much of it - here's a couple of caps

Looks quite nice, although I can't imagine it being very large - I'm sure we'll see a lot more of it tomorrow, probably in the breakfast bulletins too

EDIT: Turns out there is more to see,

I hope that isn't the sofa they'll be using for the main Look North Confused It's the same as the old one! Fingers crossed we'll be seeing a desk or a decent sofa.

The late Look North was in the temporary studio again. Phil Bodmer was reporting on the national news about the weather.

That is certainly an improvement on how the last LN set ended up - going from fresh and versatile when it was launched to tatty and worn by the end. Also makes the studio look more spacious.

At least they've got rid of the low red/purple/grey comfy chairs, they never looked like they really belonged in a news studio set.

Still in the temporary set for today's lunchtime.
