Who was presenting Calendar at 6 today? Switched on a little late and was gob smacked at how awful she was.

Spoke down to the viewers more than Carolyn Hodgson (which is some achievement).

Was it Tina Gelder? She's awful..

No not Tina.

I quite like Tina actually.

Just did the sensible thing and looked at itv.com - it was Victoria Whittam. She had an inane smile throughout the "good news" stories

Victoria Whittam, she's usually Gaynor's cover on GMTV.

You can tell she is a reporter who newsreads occasionally as she had that reporter monotone voice unlike a newsreader who has a more conversational natural style

By the way Dickie Bird was a guest on the ITV Lunchtime News today, it's been a while since I've seen him on the news. A shame this cricket match which is in the news wasn't being played at Headingley, that would have been enough to justify him appearing on Calendar and Look North!

Don't rule it out for tomorrow when they have to fill full half hours post bank holiday!

I don't think Dickie has been in the best of health recently, I recall Harry wishing him well during a recent(ish) illness.

A special opt out tomorrow night at 7.30 for a documentary about the "Symphony for Yorkshire", in both Yorkshire and Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Looks like they're just dropping a network show, so we won't be getting an evening of local continuity unfortunately.

At 10.35pm on Thursday there's a regional special on the Spending Review and its implications for the region. Looks like something all of the English regions are doing. Might be interesting to see what they do for the 10.25 bulletin if this is using the studio and it's live, although I can't see why it would be. Looks like it's pan regional, hosted by Harry, judging by the Sky EPG.

Well done to Hull on Saturday teatime who opted out of a network trailer to show a Look North-branded trailer for this, followed immediately by a networked trailer for this. Indeed it is on in all regions, and it's billed on my EPG as with Harry Gration. When they did the regional election debates - when Hull did their own - it wasn't live but recorded earlier that evening and, given it's a debate, I'm almost certain it won't come from the Look North studio.

The election debate came from Immingham

Seems a bit odd they are going pan-regional this time

As far as government spending is concerned, 'Yorkshire and The Humber' is treated as one region, so I guess it makes sense to have the one programme.
