I do wish Look North Leeds would still do a proper forecast whenever it is an OB. Every time the forcaster is on location and they appear in an inset in the bottom left, the map is static and only shows the weather at certain times rather than rolling through the hours as normal. I've tuned in for the weather especially tonight because it's absolutely throwing it down here and has been all day, but they may as well have just not had a forecast.

Presumably a lot of that is because the presenter at the OB can't control the graphics, so whoever is on standby at the studio end is likely to be doing it. But because the OB presenter probably can't see the graphics in real time (even monitoring analogue off-air there is still a delay because of the SNG link from the OB to the studio) there are advantages to simplifiying the graphics a little.

Do you know where abouts in York the office was Andrew? As I would like to hunt it out when Im next in York.
Yes the Hull office still has chervons and YTV branding! Very Happy

It was on Coppergate, opposite the back entrance to Habitat. There used to be a shop selling programme related merchandise (Heartbeat tea-towels, Countdown boardgames, etc.). This closed quite a long time ago, with the office remaining upstairs. I'm pretty certain the office has gone now too though.

There is no YTV office anywhere in York. Tyne Tees also had an office in York and I believe that too has gone.

Why the New York skyline and statue of Liberty?

Didn't they make a statue of Dusty Bin then?

It was a joint Yorkshire and Tyne Tees office, so that would seem likely.

Presumably because the shop was New and in York .

I bet someone thought they were being very clever.

They both opened shops (flogging everything from dusty bins to tea towels) when they were claiming the city as their own patch. This was during the tune your ariel to Yorkshire promotion. If memory serves they were not that far from each other.

They also both had separate stands at the Yorkshire show

Good evening everyone, Duncan is back tonight, however he is with Gaynor

Christine unsually did the Calendar News on Saturday

I did think Friday's Look North with the Leeds Festival OB was fun. The crowd were shouting Harry's name while he was on, and later he said that he couldn't wait to see the 'Arctic Chiefs' perform! Laughing

Tenuous, but acceptable.

You can never tell with Harry whether that was deliberate or not!
