Autocue is a trademark, the generic term being (I think) a teleprompter.
"TelePrompTer" was a company, and although the name isn't registered, it could be reclaimed. So it's best to ignore everything and call it what you like.

unless you're samantha fox presenting the Brit Awards 1989, and constantly compaining about the 'autocue' being rubbish. Greatly upsetting the autocue company.
It was like a Calendar East reunion tonight with John & Gaynor hosting Calendar
and werent they on top form too! But Gaynor is always brilliant - whoever she is presenting alongside and imo she is much better than Christine.
Agree - they work well together and come across much more friendly but still remaining authoritative.
Duncan Wood has a very condescending manner - "Good Evening Everyone" his favourite line particularly annoys me, treating us like naughty school children

Ha glad someone else has noticed that its always Good Evening Everyone....
Im surprised to see Chris Kiddey is still with YTV.
On a sad note having passed the former YTV office on Bailgate in Lincoln last month, which had remained empty for a few years but the Yorkshire Television signage plus chevron meaning, has sadly alas gone instead being replaced with a ladies clothes shop. I remember the photos of Christine and Duncan in the window back in 2003.
Is there still a YTV regional office in York, which is shared with Tyne Tees?
There's probably an office somewhere which is not on public view. The office and shop in the city centre closed years ago, you could still make out the chevron and TTTV logos on the sign for long enough but it's now a shop
There are still chevrons on view at the (former?) Sheffield and Hull offices though I believe.

The one at Charter Row in Sheffield has been the same since the early nineties and it will probably be like it for some time yet. That particular area of the city centre has been earmarked for a new shopping development, with many shops and restuarants having been compulsoraliry purchased. It has, however, been pushed back with the usual "economic climate" excuse, meaning it's a sea of empty units - and it looks a right mess.
Do you know where abouts in York the office was Andrew? As I would like to hunt it out when Im next in York.
Yes the Hull office still has chervons and YTV branding!
