Not strictly TV of course, but Radio Humbs has dropped off air - about 8.05 - during commentary of Tranmere v Grimsby. Emergency tape kicked in about 2 mins later but kept cutting out!

No live voice since it happened or cut to Scunny match - just James Hoggarth pre recorded announcements. So suspect that something amiss at Queenies Gardens?

its 8.50 - and still the emergency tape plays on (now not cutting out at least) - I wonder if Peter Levy's blown the power blow drying his wig?

Back at commentary at 8.55 - David Burns just apologised saying they have had major technical issue at BBC Hull and are now routed via Mailbox, Birmingham to get back on air.

Presumably either a power failure or somebody put a JCB through all the lines in and out of the building?

Interesting that the Mailbox was involved in getting them back on air, presumably the Gimsby studio can't work if Hull is down otherwise they could have got the OB back on the air via that studio.

Not sure - though would imagine if anyone is in the Grimsby building at that time of night. May well have used if not up and running by this morning.

Anyhow, Look North went ahead last night with no apparent problems. The 8pm headlines just scraped through before the problems.

Though Radio Humbs apolgised a few times today citing a power failure I believe.

I still think it has something to do with Levy - whether blowdrying his wig or overloading the circuits with his sunbed!!

He's often done 'relief' shifts in London at the weekends and other points during the holidays, he's obviously rated down there.

erm, not patronising at all.

He was put in what might be described as an uncomfortable position, which had the potential to be become very very uncomfortable if things hadn't resolved.

Can't be nice being sat at the end of an ISDN line not knowing whether you're on air or not, and having no idea what's going on
