Different sofa too! Will be interesting if Ian does any of his own tweaks for his late bulletin.
From the lunchtime bulletin, there were some new images in the titles, and some different landmarks on the background light-box panels on the set. No dramatic changes at all.

Seemed to be a one day only thing - was back in the studio last night.
You can tell Ian White's a presentation fan - some nice new shots on the 10pm using the screen whereas they never used it before. And I know Ian plays a big part in the 'grammar' of the bulletin (and all Look North bulletins) so am sure he'll have had a hand in it.

Ian in front of CSO for the headlines at 10 ala the 30second 8pm update!

The fact that the 2009 Sports Personality of the Year will be held in Sheffield is the main story on tonight's Look North with a decent amount of time allocated to the story
I don't get why it is the main story myself? Doesn't the show look the same wherever it is held? I always assumed it was at TVC.

I don't think it's been at TVC since 2005. Apparently, it is now moved around the country each year.
As for it being the main story on Look North tonight, well, at least you can't say the programme is Leeds centric - a thought shared by many Sheffielders.

Look North's analogue audience has just grown thanks to DSO preparation works

Ian White said a big hello to their new viewers in Todmorden on Friday's late Look North.
From what I understand though, a lot of people in the area have more affinity with Lancashire towns like Burnley than they do to anywhere in Yorkshire. Traditionally the Lancashire/Yorkshire border ran through the town, so it's something of an area of divided loyalties. I'd be interested to see how the change goes down there.
