Just an anoraky observation...
I notice for the Yorks and Lincs opt on the Politics Show, the titles used are just the generic ones. Is it my imagination, or did they used to say 'Yorks and Lincs' on them? I know certainly the Midlands opt still has regional branding. Anyone know why Leeds doesnt?

What I am saying is, is that the item had every right to be described as news, was in keeping with the theme of the Children in Need-prioritised show on that ONE programme, and deserved its airtime.
Obviously if there HAD been a car bomb it would obviously have to have been included (being a major incident) and the show flexibly re-jigged (or whatever the word is) to suit. But there wasn't, so it was how it was.
I would think that the word 'idiot' is hardly the correct way to describe any one of those people in that race, either. Perhaps 'fundraisers' might have been more appropriate?

Good cockup on tonight's Look North. They faded between a shot of Christa and Harry sat there wondering what was going on and a shot of them just about to interview somebody. It was so obvious Christa had to point out at the end that the interview was recorded earlier.
It'll be the Year 11 work experience people operating the Look North Gallery again!

Cockup on the Calendar Late News tonight. See I don't just mention cockups on the BBC Katherine...
The lead report appeared in sound only leaving the studio shot on. We saw Faye laughing and joking until she realised she was in vision and then put a very serious face on.
Meanwhile on the Hull Look North Paul commented how the Hull programme was turning into Showbiz News Extra or something similar!

I wonder if the vision mixer had been out on the p*ss earlier in the evening. It took forever to cut back to the report, plus at the end they cut back to the Weather caption instead of to the wide shot for a moment.

from the few editions i have watched on the internet, the hull edition of look north does seem (yet another) inane waste of licence payers' money. it seems a bit like putting radio humberside's mid-morning programme (and I shudder to think how bad THAT is) on television.
i am also slightly stunned to read in earlier posts that on children in need night they provided no news whatsoever....it rather begs the question what did the army of reporters / vjs actually DO all day? or at least what did they do after the lunch bully - which i presume had some news in it - had gone out? put their feet up presumably!
Calendar East on the other hand has for very many years provided detailed and thorough coverage - presented from a small studio in leeds, no doubt at a fraction of the cost.
