Yes, she's far to loud for me too in the mornings plus she has the annoying habit of useing the phrase "going to be, going to go or gonna be" rather than the correct "will be" or just "going" - a minor point I know but it really grates with me. i've taken to counting the number of times in short Bully she says it - top so far is four times.
I also hate the way people misspell the word "using" as "useing", or the way people forget to capitalise "I", or the way people get "to" and "too" muddled up, or the way people don't use quotation marks properly, or people who generally have poor grammar.
"Going to be" is not grammatically incorrect. Neither is "gonna be" - it's informal, however.
I also hate the way people pick on other contibutors spelling on these boards.
BTW I did not use "I hate" in my post - as you can clearly read.
now back to my original comment "going to go" and "gonna be" are wrong.
Now if you will excuse me i'm going to go and gonna be off and useing my sign on i'll ad some more coments elsewerr.
Just as a test to see if you are still reading, I reiterate my point:
"Going to be" and "gonna be" are not wrong. I'm sorry - however I'm not sure if I need to be - but you are incorrect.
Exchanging "really grates with me" (which, incidentally, is incorrect) with "hate" seems like a logical, time-saving step - I assume you do not like her supposed incorrect way of saying things, do you?
I am not picking on you - however, the irony of you finding Clare's alleged incorrectness annoying is rather funny. If it was wrong - which it isn't - I would have no problem with your criticism.

I may be wrong, but I don't think Question Time ever did come from Woodhouse Lane. Certainly during the 90s when I worked at BBC Leeds, QT always came from YTV.
There was only the one big TV studio at Woodhouse Lane. Apparently it was large enough for a small audience only, as seen on some local Children In Need opts over the years.
Very often they had different sets in either end of the studio, with the main Look North set at one end, and something like North Of Westminster or the Look North 'soft' set at the other. There were very few network programmes which used the studio - the TV version of Gardeners' Question Time a notable exception.
As for Radio Leeds' Studio 2, during my time there, it was only ever used as a big store-room, and was so full of junk I doubt they'd ever have considered using it for anything at the time. There was also another farcical issue towards the late 90s where parts of the building were left empty, and not to be used, because they had to be 'rented' off BBC Resources (or whichever department was responsible for buildings at the time) - so to save money for BBC Leeds' budgets, they vacated certain rooms such as Studio 2, the Radio Leeds production office and the canteen.
Sometimes it was quite interesting to see what had been dumped in Studio 2 though, especially lots of bits of old Look North sets. This desk from the early 90s was in there for ages...

How many TV studios were there at Woodhouse Lane? Was there a "network" studio or just the regional one? (Not counting the self-op pres studio)
The reason I ask is that I believe they used to do Question Time there from Woodhouse Lane, would that have been from a proper TV studio or would they have used Radio Leeds's Studio 2 (which was big enough to take an audience of over 150) as either a four waller with a scanner?
Given that they have been known to use Universities to stage Question Time before, I wonder if they'll ever go back to Old Broadcasting House?.

Thanks for that Spencer. In the back of my mind I think they brought Studio 2 back into use for Raw Talent, before the programme moved to Hull. I may be making that up though!

1.You are being selective here. I referred earlier to "going to go"
which is wrong. You cannot go twice in this example. "Gonna go" as you have suggested earlier is casual. IMHO I think it is incorrect.
2. By using "hate" you've changed the tone of the posting - it may save time but it is not what I meant and you know that.
3. The point of my original post which I must not have explained properly was the frequency of "going to go/gonna be", sometimes up to four times in a very short bully.
4. As we are getting nowhere with this I accept your opiions and hope you are going to go and have a good day.

I'm sorry if we've taken up too much space with this topic.
Surely the whole point of these boards is we can all contribute to the threads?
There's loads of stuff which would not normally interest me - Fonts, Lighting etc, which I read to gain knowledge.
Now admittedly a spat over grammar is not to everyones taste but surely from a presentation point of view it is relevant.
BTW if you look back I was the 7th contributor to that thread.
Now if someone can explain to Bilky Asko that you cannot have a sentence in English with the same verbs in it, I'll be most greatfull and leave this thread.

If you would learn how to quote posts properly (eg trim it to the relevant section, so you're not quoting the entire post and a dozen previous posts) it would help considerably
