I didn't realise she'd never done the main programme before until Harry mentioned it. I think she's rather good.


I cant understand why Clare is never allowed to present the main programme again - shes the best!

Mornings are her slot and I get the impression that she enjoys doing them. I suppose she can then get off home early afternoon, which may be good considering she has a young child whom she was off pregnant for a few years back.

Each to their own. Personally I find her far too shouty.

As for her never doing the main programme, I would hazard a guess that it could be her choice. I can't see, after being given the boot in favour of Christa, that she'd want to be her stand-in. Pure speculation of course.

I'd agree with that line of thought personally!

Yes, Amanda's pretty good on the main programme. It's due to be a week of new (but familiar) faces as main presenters on the 6.30pm... stay tuned!

I'm told Jenny Hill's back on attachment with network BBC News - as she was late last year for a few months - hence why she's not filling in.

Going back a couple of years there John but your right she was and she was superb! But she still is with BBC Yorkshire as Health Correspondent.

Tanya Arnold is to co-present with Harry tonight. Is this her first time?

Tanya used to report on news rather than sport, she regularly used to do the afternoon summary, but I'm not sure if she ever did the main programme. I suspect she did though.

Good to hear that Penny is still appreciated. She was a great Look East presenter, and formed a brilliant double-act with Stewart White there. She was always a class act - both as a presenter and a reporter, with a light touch when needed, but also a very good journalistic attitude to reporting.

Nope - don't think so. First time tonight (and solo on the lunchtime today).

I can't recall ever seeing Tanya present any bulletin other than the sport segment. I don't remember her doing news reporting either.

If we're talking about unusual bulletin presenters what about Paul Hudson co-presenting?

Yes, she's far to loud for me too in the mornings plus she has the annoying habit of useing the phrase "going to be, going to go or gonna be" rather than the correct "will be" or just "going" - a minor point I know but it really grates with me. i've taken to counting the number of times in short Bully she says it - top so far is four times.
