That Gaynor Barnes has a varied working week doesn't she. One day she's hosting Calendar South serving the smallest part of our region, next day she's hosting the main programme.
A poor do they didn't link to the sub-regions properly tonight as it would have been interesting to see who they'd got to fill in as Faye was also busy on the panto story. Calendar News was presented by Michelle Gee which is rare. Who hosted Calendar East today anyone know?

It's not a case of not being good enough, he doesn't WANT to go national, simple as that! In a way, he DID 'go national' when he did some weather-related stints on that daytime morning show with Nicky Chapman and the bloke I can't remember.
Anyway, here's something he said about going national in an interview in 2003:
"Paul and Nicola have moved from Knaresborough to Leeds, but Paul is 'not remotely interested' in another move: to the national BBC in London.
"Radio in Yorkshire and Look North are fantastic because they allow me to express myself, to waffle on about the statistics and show pictures of empty reservoirs. If I went to London, it's very much like a Bill Giles sausage factory"
So, there we have it; a person that IMO, feels fulfilled and happy where he is, and to be honest, he's got too much personality (and jackets) to lose by going to London. He's onto a good thing given his popularity in the area, viewing figures for Look North remain very impressive and with all this in mind, a move to sanitised London would restrict his ability to project his character.
Not everyone's dream of employment fulfillment heaven is eventually making it big in the southern smoke. Isn't it a bit late in the day at 19:08 to request I ask that question anyway?
Oh yes, Bob Rust was there too! I didn't know he was coming!

Technically they don't let him do any of that. The slightest mention of any statistics leads to Levy or Ackroyd saying yawn! is anyone still awake?! weather!
At least Jon Mitchell can do his statistics without anyone telling him to shush.
Talking about weather presenters it hasn't been mentioned here but Debbie Lindley came into the Calendar studio this week with her new baby which was only apparantly a few days old.

Erm.. yes they do! Regardless of the level of interest of Peter and Christa, the statistics always get broadcast anyway. As a fellow weather enthusiast, I find them fascinating!

This was an interview done (I believe) for a York-centric website. It was called, appropriately and sensibly enough, 'This is York'.
At the time of interview, Paul Hudson did not do weather reports for Radio Lincolnshire. He did weather for BBC Radios York, Humberside, Sheffield and Leeds.
He gained some weather slots on Radio Lincs WELL AFTER the interview date (15th November 2003). Before that, all our weather was done by our associates in the East Midlands who share most of the Lincolnshire turf (as well as swathes of Nottinghamshire and some parts of Derbyshire).
Norfolk's weather is mainly controlled by, believe it or not, Radio Norfolk (based in Norwich) as most of that county is served not by Look North, but Look EAST (also by a happy coincidence based in Norwich). It is then entirely reasonable for him to say 'Radio in Yorkshire' in the individual context of that interview, is it not?

Looks like Paul Hudson is taking a leaf out of Alan Titchmarsh's book and is presenting a series of programmes on Sunday nights for the next few weeks about the 'Eight Wonders of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire'! There was a trailer for it after the lunchtime Look North today, with him doing a piece to camera a few hundred feet up in a microlight aircraft!
Peter Levy believed to be 'very jealous indeed'!
