There's an item on the Politics Show Yorkshire coming up about the cuts at YTV. Including some nice up to date gallery shots showing Tonight with Christine Talbot going out.
Very interesting item - thanks for the tip off Steve.
And nice to see the 'Serving Six Million Viewers' ident, clearly lifted sraight off TV Ark.

They did mention that ITV Yorkshire wouldn't let them show any clips from current programmes, so guess that's all they were left to show.
A quick technical question - how are Look North Leeds managing to do the opt back to network so cleanly, where they cut to network (London continuity announcer over a menu in 16:9) with the last second or so of the Look North theme tune still playing?
All I can think of is that they've got a feed of
the 16:9 digital network on their desk as an OS and they're soft-opting back to that rather than to network proper, then doing their local trail and opting back to the analogue distribution in the usual way.
If that is the case then I'm impressed that they've taken the trouble to do it. Particularly as getting the timings right with the different delays on the two networks must be tricky.
Another technical problem on late Look North tonight, no name captions, Ian has just apologised
There does seem to be some sort of cockup on Look North, either in vision or sound, much more frequently thesedays, and sad to say, much more often than on Calendar

UTV have the same "technical problem" on a regular basis on their late bulletins, but I have never seen them offering anything in a way of an apology for it.
Has Paul Hudson become part-time environment correspondent for Look North? He was reporting from a power station recently and today on a device for saving energy with appliances on standby.

Yep, he was appointed 'Climate Correspondent' a few months back.
You would think with all the news around at the moment BBC LOOK LEVY ULL could find better a weath of stories to report.
However since the dissapearance of the pointless 'celebrity' interviews, we seem to be flailing aroud looking for anything to fill the programme in what the BBC describes as a 'big news region' Tonights little effort meant wasting production time on mad inventors of Bra warmers - complete with cheap comments about Balls and images of said mad inventor type groping bra's perched on two ballcock floats.
Sorry Peeta & gang, for comedy to work you need to have something which contrasts with the rest of the show & LUK ULL is a complete joke to start with so it didn't work.
There was an item on Look North tonight about how the titles are jinxed, first they featured a GNER train, then the Tinsley towers and now the Yorkshire Wheel is the main image on the current titles
They have now introduced new titles and have gone with York Minster instead, which is likely not to be knocked down during the currency of the titles
Paul helpfully pointed out that the Yorkshire Wheel is also pictured on the set too!
Peter Levy got half a dozen mentions on Radio 1 this morning

Anyone else notice that tonights main titles had the originally planned tune for the April relaunch - extra loud beeps if you ask me!
