I would say the former. It's in the North Midlands area, only down the road from Lincoln really.

Then again, one could argue why Look North Leeds and Calendar North was covering it because I would have thought that area would be on Belmont.

I believe most people in Mansfield get Emley Moor, a stronger signal from that than Waltham curiously-- although the latter is receivable. I don't think Belmont is well-received in that area of Notts, one needs to be nearer the A1 corridor for picking that up?

BBC EMT and Central East would cover the celebrations in Mansfield anyway, considering it'sin the East Midlands.

So tonight's leading story on Look Norf Hull is all about a someone dropping sausage roll Rolling Eyes Surprised Levy's not got someone in the studio from Hull City Council and the National Sausage Roll Association to comment Laughing

I think that pretty much everywhere in the country (including Hull) has more important stories than that.

I wouldn't be so sure. Look North NE&C were leading on a story about an injured cat in Carlisle this morning.

Seriously.

I'd say the cat is more important. Sausage rolls aren't alive, you see.

LMAO - just hope they can't find some tenuous connection between the cat in Carlisle and Hull, otherwise it will be on LNH tonight Laughing

Probably a live, down-the-line, interview with the cat as it recuperates at the vet's...

Or maybe a live link to Freddie Starr, who knows all about animals, what with him having once been reported to have eaten a hamster.

lol, more likely it would be along the lines of Levy saying: "Over to our reporter Loveday Kitto in Carlisle and a live interview with the cat's owner, about it's famous distant relative owned by William Wilberforce when he lived in Hull, and how it frequently caught mice in the same part of the Hull which suffered major flooding last year. I'm sure both William and his cat would be delighted in Hull's success in the football though. We really want to hear your views on this.......(etc)" Laughing

Debbie Lindley made an appearance on the sofa weather bit on Calendar tonight. A rare event she only seems to do the weather infrequently at the weekend thesedays

The Calendar weather bit is usually done by Jon, or if he's not there Jo and occasionally Kerrie

Christine Talbot has been on holiday for ages, I imagine she'll return on Monday

Yeah, was nice to see Debbie on the 6pm Calendar after such a long absence.

On the subject of YTV, could someone please say how many buildings on Kirkstall Road they own? I have relatives who live in close proximity to the studios so am able to see them on a regular basis. It seems they have the main building ("The Television Centre" as was, IIRC), and then the "104 Kirkstall Road" building where the news operation is based (these two studios are next to each other but separated by a road - Studio Road it was called, last time I bothered to take any notice). Of course further on down the road they have the Emmerdale Production Centre - there's also another building in between the 104 and EPC which have signs that say "Film Lab North" and "Pro Vision" (wasn't Pro Vision something to do with YTV?). Also across the road from this is another building that says "Production Centre - Studio 81", which I don't think YTV own. Does anyone know what goes on in this building then? I never manage to catch any company branding, it's just a big green building with massive "Studio 81" lettering.

I think Beverley is winning the most number of stories in one town award at the moment.

I'd hate to live somewhere called Beverley.

Film Lab North is part of YTV/Granada/ITV. Studio 81 is Leeds Independent Studios, a film production facility

LNH has to be some sort of wind-up surely? It is so embarrassingly bad Sad

Now that their beloved Hull FC has been well and truly thrashed by Wigan (ok, only 0 - 5) I wonder how much coverage this will get compared to the (improbable score) being the reverse?

p.s. no offence to Hull FC supporters, just fed up with the pish-poor reporting standards on LNH Sad

Hull F.C. is the rugby team. Hull City A.F.C. is the football team

Used to live near Mansfield, and I'm pretty sure it was the Belmont transmitter that we received - it's certainly a flatter line of sight than Emley Moor.

Interesting to see Radio 1 Newsbeat's health correspondent Tulip Mazumdar filing a piece from the LGI for Look North about binge drinking. WIth her name mis-spelt on the aston.
