"Bizzare that you can pick up Granada 80 miles away, East, the signal is strong in North Wales, it can go far as Anglessey which I would say is about 80-90 miles away, but it's something you don't imagine that Granada is able to pick up in Yorkshire."

I was a bit surprised - I was tuning my TV in during the regional news slot, and came across the fourth different ITV service I could receive, so I assume I had picked up Central - and once Lucy Meacock appeared on the Granada Reports set, I was pleasantly surprised Smile

My main reception comes from Emley Moor, my Bilsdale signal is slightly snowy and sometimes cuts in sound, while Granada is more snowy. I can only access Teletext from the Emley Moor transmitter, but I can receive the Yorks & Lincs, North East & Cumbria and North West Ceefax services.

Shame, as since Tuesday I haven't been able to see any regional news bulletins apart from the 10.30/10.50 slots... I watched most of LN with Ian White(?) last night, and I tend to watch NET instead of Calendar as I have more of an affinity with Tyne Tees than Yorkshire for some reason.

But I digress... my colleagues are sick to the back teeth of me talking about whether I prefer Leeds or Hull... they prefer Leeds btw Smile

What about your Belmont signal?

A quick bit of photoshoppery on the images from Mike Brown's excellent tx.mb21.co.uk site shows that the three locals from Holme Moss are indeed directional, although there is a significant overlap between Leeds and Sheffield

Nice map! Cool

Bear in mind that those BBC coverage maps show areas of optimum signal strength. In reality you can pick up reasonable signals for the stations well outside the marked 'footprints'.

Yup - can clarify that; I get decently clear reception from High Hunsley in Boston! Essential for the 16:33 Paul Hudson forecast on Radio Humberside Monday-Friday!

Sadly it's very snowy, ironically my signal from Bilsdale is clearer than from Belmont Sad

I caught a bit of the Look North Hull trailer before TOTP last night, it looked incredibly slick, I think I missed you in it though Katherine...

And are there more Harry/Christa "dialogue" trails for Look North Leeds than the one about Christa's hair colour matching Harry's tie?

Not always. Here in Lincoln it depends on whether the hill is blocking you or not Razz

Not sure I'm with you there - I can only receive Radio Humberside through my dining room's rather powerful Hi-Fi radio aerial; no other portable radio in the house can receive from it, and that's taking the car's radio into account too. Reception of Viking FM's dodgier than Radio Humberside.

When we're on the A1 up to my brother's house near Leeds, the first place Radio Humberside's available is when you get on the bit of the A17 just after RAF Cranwell at Byard's Leap, called the Lincoln Edge. Quality of reception's not crystal but clear enough to hear the presenters. Incidentally, we usually tune in to Radio Leeds when we get to the Clumber Park roundabout between Retford and Worksop... just on the offchance a Look North person might just be heard!

Bostonshire? It's always Sleaford or Skegness when I tune in (or perhaps Boston Unitedshire... footy team get mentioned quite a lot)....

Terrain's quite high round there, so it's probably why it can be well-received... I know Lincs FM is receivable from southern and eastern parts of Leeds as when Maria Richmond did her 'first beat' quiz, two people called Craig and David (I think they were from between Wakefield and Leeds) ALWAYS took part!

Interested to know this; can anyone in the Newark/Mansfield area get Radio Humberside?
