What do Forumers think of the fake view as a backdrop of the BBC TV National Newsroom in London on A BBC TV Regional News Programme ?
I just can't see the sense in it ?

I know that the BBC rebrand was all about a coherent look but showing a London Newsroom in Hull just takes the whole excercise too far !

Sent an emai to Peter about it, it was read but I didn't get a Response

It isn't a London newsroom though, is it? It's CGI.

If they were to show the real Hull newsroom London would have a fit. You could not get a more off message look;
Dayglow yellow/orange, green and silver corrugated iron and I think they don't call it a newsroom its called The deep. Apparently all the rooms are named after Hull landmarks. Have not seen the sign for the open centre marked chavsville though Wink

Have a look here, the place is a lot worse than it looks in these pictures.

Havent they redecorated since these though? I dont understand this region - it has potential, and they must have seen that as they split from Leeds but all seems to be wasted! Such a shame for a beautiful county of Lincolnshire.

Why are there corrugated iron shutters on the walls of the newsroom?

OB from Hull on the Politics Show opt-out... and guess where they are - outside Queen's Court with Levy House in the background.

Is there really nowhere else in the city they can use as a backdrop?

At least doing in from there they probably were using facilities in Queen's Court to get the OB back to Leeds rather than the satellite truck which always goes wrong on the PS

In what way? And which Look North, Leeds or Hull?

Peter or Harry & Christa are surrounded by red-and-white, with a fake newsroom behind them. Whereas the Calendar presenters are surrounded by teal/blue, with a view of the outside world (e.g. Leeds or Sheffield, etc) behind them.

Apart from the broad similarity of sitting on sofa-benches (which they share with all ITVplc regions and a number of other BBC regions), I fail to see any exceptionally noteworthy similarity. Confused

lol, typical Laughing

And today, yet another story about the floods..... Zzzzzzzzzzz At least it's not Levy on the lunchtime bulletin, replaced by Caroline who somehow manages to get twice as many words per second compared to most people Laughing

Unfortunately they slipped up putting Elaine on the yacht - Levy would have been a far better choice Laughing

On Look North Leeds, you can tell Ian White's a pres fan - you always get a wide shot at the end of the bulletin, the closing music fading up nicely when he's on and you never do when it's anyone else.

Last night - and a night last week I think - he ran some topical pictures to close the late bulletin with the closing music (that extended version posted on here) fading up under it. Worked well I though - last night it was the typical regional news fare of 'oh it's sunny, let's go and take some shots on the beach'. Smile
