Oh dear Aston, you might get yourself a solicitor, with damaging remarks like this! I hope you have proof of this. I some how doubt it

Maybe you're thinking of Naked News. Live TV's news is/was done fully clothed, but with the News Bunny in the background.

Entering probably too late into this discussion, but only got a TV yesterday, not only can I get Look North Leeds and Hull, but North East & Cumbria and North West Today/Tonight! (Or Calendar/Calendar Sheffield/North East Tonight/Granada Reports) - don't ask me how, 80 miles from Manchester, I can pick up Granada... Smile

Anyway, what's the deal with the Paul Hudson DVD? I might enter the competition to win one, is it a compilation of his forecasts/jackets or does he go around Yorkshire talking about the weather?

And if anyone has time, what's the history with Paul and Peter Levy? Is their banter just for show or do they really wind each other up?

And when did Christa get the enhancement? She's looking well Smile

Was it just me or was Look North in Brief, on the Hull variant, done from a CSO rather than in front of the projector screen tonight?

Bizzare that you can pick up Granada 80 miles away, East, the signal is strong in North Wales, it can go far as Anglessey which I would say is about 80-90 miles away, but it's something you don't imagine that Granada is able to pick up in Yorkshire. Though I've mentioned it on here quite a few times, that I was in an Asda a couple of years ago that was showing BBC1 Yorkshire and Lincolnshire with a bit of fuzz and that was it, and the Asda I visited is closer to Merseyside rather than going East into Manchester, Pennines then Yorkshire.

Then again we can somehow recieve BBC Radio Sheffield through a car aerial!

Anyway back to Calendar and Look North (Leaves thread Laughing )

Anyway, what's the deal with the Paul Hudson DVD?

It's a DVD that highlights the major and severe weather incidents in this region over the last century or so, and about weather in general

And if anyone has time, what's the history with Paul and Peter Levy? Is their banter just for show or do they really wind each other up?

From Paul's co-authored book 'Weather or Not',

Quote:
Over the years the on-air relationship with Peter ELvy flourished. Peter has been in broadcasting for 25 years (it feels like 125 years!), and treally it turned out from a very early stage that we both had the same sense of humour. Whether it was about me being 'vertically challenged' or Peter drawing his pension and wearing a syrup, we really did have a laugh on Lunchtime Look North.

But it was obvious even at that early stage in 1998 that this was what the viewers wanted. We regularly had a pile of letters and e-mails with many of them saying the same theme - the news is depressing enough, let's have a laugh - not to mention regular marriage proposals for Peter (most of them from rinsers). Students from around the region would, heaven forbid, get up in time for the 1:30 PM broadcast and then no doubt go back to bed. It must be such a hard life for them!

Having seen them off-camera many times it's fair and evident to say that there IS genuine and strong friendship between them. I have read at least two quotes from Peter about this, "We do actually quite like each other, but don't tell Paul that!" , and "When I am out, people talk to me about Paul wherever I go - he is a hugely popular personality and also a great mate to me" . Finally, on a Radio Lincolnshire interview, Paul describes the banter-swapping as 'the highlight of my day; I love it!'

Interestingly (well to me anyway), Radios Sheffield, Leeds and GMR all come off the same mast at Holme Moss. Presumably each has a deflector to send the signal vaguely in the right direction, but with a half decent aerial you can get all three stations right across much of the North. In fact, when I worked at Radio Leeds years ago, it wasn't uncommon to get callers from both Liverpool and Hull.

A quick bit of photoshoppery on the images from Mike Brown's excellent tx.mb21.co.uk site shows that the three locals from Holme Moss are indeed directional, although there is a significant overlap between Leeds and Sheffield
