I think it is because Emley Moor Tower is an "iconic" structure and landmark (more conspicuous than a metal pole perhaps!), hence it's inclusion in the titles. Such is its prestige, it's now a Grade II listed structure now, believe it or not
Back in the 90s, Network North had a CG representation of the Bilsdale mast on the titles, which is a smilar type to Belmont. I'd guess though that it would have meant sod all to the vast majority of viewers.
And yes, the Emley Moor tower is something of a Yorkshire landmark. I would guess it's probably the country's most loved transmitter mast - at least I don't know any others which have a sizeable Facebook group devoted to them.
