Firstly on Calendar, didn't John Shires look uncomfortable on tonight's OB. I feel that was a Christine/Gaynor type OB myself.
Secondly, BBC Leeds failed to opt out at the top of tonight's Look North instead we got 'Now on BBC1, BBC London News with Emily Maitliss' followed by the start of their headlines.
I don't know what they must be doing, surely it can't be that hard to press a button marked opt-out. Time to plug the old self-opt desk back in I think!

Just saw myself in one of the Look North Hull 'Big Photo' adverts just before Eastenders!!!! The one where we're all waving!!
I am in 'Happy Bunny' mode now!
Oh, and I've e-mailed Helen herself asking if she actually is being headhunted by the Beeb but had no response yet......
If these are genuine rumours, I'm hoping Philpot gets the Top Job, but that won't stop me sending a humorous opportunistic semi-spoof CV to them!
EDIT - Paul did the weather from the HULL studio tonight, sitting with Helen and Peter! Lisa did the weather in Leeds! A rare occurence!

Because Helen is a great addition to the Look North Team and it will be upsetting to see her leave. Peter and her always seem to get on really well.

Then either your user name is quite misleading, or I should feel bound to say that Look North isn't your local news programme. You might be watching via Sky digital in which case why don't you follow her around the UK that way? I'd love to get Sky for the sheer curiosity factor of seeing other regions; but its a local news show - not there for entertainment (although I'm sure I'll be told otherwise in this thread).

Nope - among the people i was chatting with during filming, some were from Hull but others had come from Bridlington, Beverley, Pocklington, Caistor, Brigg, Market Rasen and Skegness..... sorry to poop your party!
