What 'news' would you put in its place then?
Besides . . . . All the local 'news' programmes on BBC1 have always claimed to be news/magazine programmes. They aren't supposed to be 25 minutes of ONLY local NEWS weather and sport. They have always had the remit to include OTHER ITEMS of local interest.

Did you see the non-story about Graham Norton on Look North last night? It turned out to be a plug for the BBC1 show Who Do You Think You? later in the evening. Thats not news and shouldn't be allowed to be on the news shows. The BBC are getting worse for this

Probably not. Don't forget a lot of people in Sheffield get their signal from Emley, plus, I'm sure Calendar will return to one edition before Christmas - the split isn't in any franchise agreement, and OFCOM approved it as a trial.

Calendar North have got the image of Sheffield behind them tonight. Have they put the wrong one up?!

Why bother with another studio just have one programme with news and cut the banter and cr@p. The Hull studios are built in what was going to be a shop and office complex anyway so they could easily convert them back - since its in the heart of Queens gardens I'm sure that the drug rehabilitation team would welcome a nice handy office - now that would be a real drop in/out open centre right on the doorstep
